Our first visit to the Pulpit Inn. After an hour or so walking around Portland Bill we were hungry. We were welcomed by I guess the land lady. Ordered a couple of pints of Thatchers cider, cod and chips and scampi and chips which were both £9.99 each. The food was perfectly cooked, tasty and very good value for money. We'll be back.
We had only 1 night there, but that was lovely. The room was beautiful, very well designed. The lampshade matched with the curtains,I loved it Bed was so comfy. We forgot the breakfast is included in the price, but we didn't have time to eat there in the morning, so they just quickly packed for us some nibbles, didn't let us go without food. Kind staff
Excellent stopover in our camper. Only £10, food looked good and reasonable, excellent views, superb location, WiFi and they even opened up earlier to let us use the facilities. Highly recommended.Service: 5/5
We arrived and raised an eyebrow having seen the specials board dumped on the ground under the clearly decapitated pub sign. The broken bench outside and clearly not maintained outside area added to the image that was very fitting. We went for lunch but after receiving a A4 printed very limited cafe style menu we decided we'd rather go hungry. The kitchen door was open when I went to the toilet and I wouldn't risk anything from there. The wine ordered was nasty and we made haste and went to the Lobster Pot 5mins away where we were super happy with everything. My advice would be AVOID THIS PLACE, ITS A DUMP.
Great location, ok food, could have better drinks choice. The staff karaoke was a bit annoying, but each to their own! Worth a visit on a nice day to sit and look out to sea! Food & drinks: Food was very average, just standard pub fare. Drinks also average.
Memories of a decent pub. Looks like some redec since last year but now a simpler starker offer. Smart coffees and vgn options have gone and a cafe style menu is in with an atmosphere to match. Great location of course, just wont rush back Noteworthy details: Nothing vegan on menu
Such a shame this place is closing down. However, it does need to modernise the interior, provide heating and is pricey due to location . Could be a great pub but does not need knocking down and turning into a fancy bar and bistro..... keep the pub...just invest please!Service: 3/5
Ordered 2 pints, cheesy chips and onion rings. Pub was not busy. 45 minutes later having stood at the bar for 10 minutes without service I prompted staff, and 10 minutes later I got my food, not cheesy chips and onion rings, staff did not apologise for delay or incorect order. Just dropped off food and left.Food: 2/5
The Pulpit Inn is CLOSED. No bar/drinks No food No WiFi No service & No staff The room was ok but we were the only people in the place, shown to our room by a builder who apologised 6 times before we made it into the room. Landlord was not on site when we arrived or overnight. Construction mess everywhere, junk piled in the corridors, dead Xmas tree on the pool table Shower steam set the fire alarm off twice but nobody there to see if we died!
To be fair they were short staffed and were working hard. Walking group only ordered sandwiches which took ages to come. I do hope they sort themselves out for the summer as people were walking out Noteworthy details: Close to Portland Bill and could be an ideal lunch spot for walkers on the coast path if they can get more efficient
