The Prior John

One of the nicer designed Wetherspoons pubs, I like it. We have always been served at a reasonable pace (even quicker now thanks to the seat ordering app) food was cooked and presented nicely. I have had previous experiences where the food has taken its time but it all depends on how busy it is. Its not a massive pub and can fill up easily.

Eaten here twice recently, the first time they'd run out of gravy for the bangers and mash, and the second it took them two attempts to get my steak right (sorry but medium-well when you ordered rare is not even close). That being said, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good.

A typical Wetherspoons pub - reasonably priced meals and drinks in a busy setting. It doesn't matter when you go, it'll be busy. However, what's not typical, is the very helpful staff who go out of their way to help. They're exceptional, and make your visit a very pleasant experience.

Needs a refurbishment. Ordered food which took quite a while to come, then not hot. The app is great for ordering, but need extra staff to accommodate everything being delivered.

Prior John it's a nice Witherspoon's good food good drink and staff are very helpful.I have just found out that the franchise in York doesn't do cake and Coffee anymore.
