This was a great place to go to get a quick meal, it was the first place we ate in Soho after checking in to our airbnb just around the corner and it was perfect. Staff was very friendly and helpful in making the tough decision about which potato to choose. The 3 of us all chose different potatoes but they were all amazing. They have a very small space upstairs where you order and then they have a couple of communal tables downstairs with more space to sit.
The BBQ duck potato was truly amazing. Nice that the potato was well cooked and not dried out or hard. Skin was nice and crisp. Can't wait to go back
Great idea! The potato was awesome! So delicious and my order was prepared super quick. Can't wait to go back!
I'm sorry to say that I wasn't overly happy with my meal from here today. As a big potato fan I was excited about my visit. The menu was pretty extensive lots of toppings to choose from, and I chose to go for a mushroom, spinach and truffle potato with a slaw side. I didn't taste ANY truffle in my potato, but the skin was nice and crispy. The slaw tasted pretty much shop-bought, where I was expecting something a little more chunky and tasty. Sorry for the low score, but I was expecting much more!
This used to be Tosca an Italian family cafe which had been in Soho a long time. Unfortunately times change and the Potato Project took over. I love jacket potatoes and this is a really good idea. Okay it may only be a potato with a filling but the fillings are really nice. Good for lunch, like it.
The idea is pretty good. Everyone loves some jacket potatoes and especially when today it's 50% off! However the first impression was that the joint was way too hot inside it was like a burning oven!!! We had to stand at the door to cool down while we waited for our orders. The menu has a lot of items and there are daily specials so I went for the Salmon Cream Cheese jacket potato £7 full price. I'm not entirely convinced. The potato was baked nicely BUT the skin turned black completely. Also there are no seasonings apart from a big slab of salmon inside with cream cheese. The raw salmon was also being cooked by the potato so the bottom half of my salmon was more cooked than raw. I would not pay for this full price! Yes, it's convenience as in you cooked the potato for me, slapped on a salmon and put on some cream cheese, but I could really do this at home and this does not deserve the gourmet price of £7! Onto dessert, they have one only which is the sweet potato cheesecake. This is really nice, very very sweet tasting with some granola crumb at the top for texture but alas, the portion was so small that there is no chance I will come back to buy this little dinky cup for £2.75. I could pretty much get a whole cheesecake from tesco across the road for this price? Non-daily special baked potatos are at a more reasonable price of £5 full price - but no salad, and I do hope they have better seasonings for those other options, as otherwise, this place would be pretty disappointing.
The idea is cool but a lot of the flavour combos are a bit random. Also you can end up paying nearly four pounds for a plain jacket potato with butter. This seems extravagant. Staff are cool though.
Popped in for the first time to grab some lunch. No clear sign of where the order line was, so asked a woman just inside the door who said that she had already ordered, directing me to a collection of folks leaning against a wall. They too had already ordered and pointed me towards a gentleman behind the counter, I wondered over, said hello, and asked him for an item off the menu. I was greeting with a very sarcastic 'this isn't the line, the line is there, and there are OTHER people waiting'. I appreciate they were busy, but there is never, ever any justification for speaking to a customer like that. I left feeling belittled and frustrated, wondered down to Brunos, got a significantly cheaper, and very tasty jacket potato.
Delicious surprise! Interesting new way of presenting jacket potatoes. Very nice spot right in the middle of central London, ideal for business lunches or take aways.I'd highly recommend it
Delicious lunch spot in Soho. So good they now deliver lunch for our team meetings. The classics have been elevated to the next level, but I really enjoy the twists, the BBQ duck to be precise.
