We nearly drove past because, from the outside, the café looks quite run down. It’s next to a garage, there were a lot of broken-down cars in the car park, and there was even a boarded-up door, so first impressions weren’t the best.nnHowever, once we went inside, everything changed. The lady serving us was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We chose a chocolate Aero mint brownie, a millionaires shortbread, and a cookie pie. Every single one was absolutely delicious – some of the best cakes I’ve ever had. They were very gooey, rich, and incredibly sweet, which was perfect if you enjoy indulgent treats.nnThe value was excellent too. We paid just £8 for two cakes and, because we were taking them away, we were given an extra one for free, which was a lovely gesture.nnDon’t judge this place by its exterior. The inside is welcoming, the service is fantastic, and the cakes are outstanding. I’d definitely recommend giving it a chance.
Great full English! Sausages and hash browns really delish! Also super cakes and the friendliest lady who served us! Well worth the 5 min walk to sit outside away from the traffic and with the lovely bird song! RECOMMEND
What an absolutely fantastic café! Lovely friendly staff, one of the most amazing cake selections I have ever seen, and everything gluten free.nWe had an amazing full English breakfast and got two scotch eggs incredible after a few pitches of climbing at chair ladder and rather too many cakes than were strictly necessary to take away. We will be back tomorrow to try a pasty or two. Thank you so much for your care and dedication, it is very much appreciated.
Called at this gluten-free cafe today and immediately received a warm and helpful welcome. If you are gf, it makes a change to be in a cafe where you can order anything you fancy. There are also dairy-free options. We tried three of the cakes and took away two lovely bread rolls. If you're in the area, this is worth diverting for.
I thought my gluten intolerance would have prevented me enjoying a pasty in Cornwall, but I’m so glad to have been proven wrong.nnAbsolutely delicious scotch eggs and baked goods were a nice discovery too, however the pasty was sensational. Lots of nice beef and potato and a good whack of pepper in surprisingly tasty gluten free pastry.nnIf you could find a way of mailing pasties to me when I’m back home a ‘posty’, if you will, I will be very happy.
