The Park Hotel, Barnstaple's newest 4-star hotel, is set in a quiet corner of the market town. It enjoys panoramic views over Rock Park and the River Taw and is part of the Brend Hotels Group - the AA's Hotel Group of the Year 2015-16.

Story

Recently extensively refurbished and awarded a prestigious 4-star status from the AA, the hotel now boasts 10 new Executive Deluxe Rooms with balconies and views over Rock Park including 2 fully disabled rooms with adapted bathrooms and parking directly outside and a lift has also been installed in the lobby. The ambitious refurb has also seen the development of 2 brand new dining experiences: Seasons Brasserie and Seasons Bar and Lounge.

The Park Hotel is in the family-run Brend Hotels collection of 11 luxury hotels in Devon & Cornwall and was the 2nd hotel to be opened and holds a special place for the family as it is also the base for the Head Office for the group. Renowned for outstanding customer service, great food, plush rooms and incredible locations; Brend Hotels were awarded ‘AA Hotel Group of the Year 2015-16’

Needed a hotel within a short distance of a venue I was attending and The Park fit the bill. Plenty of parking at the back of the hotel, Staff were friendly and efficient, I booked dinner which had ample portions and was tasty although service was a bit slow even though it was quiet. Room was very nice, clean and well maintained and bed was very comfortable, I slept well. Breakfast was buffet for continental breakfast items and waited for cooked breakfast, the cooked breakfast was delicious and portions were good. I certainly stay here again and would recommend to others.
Great overall experience. Good parking and convenient electric car charging, clean good sized room and lovely position next to a nice park. Would like to have seen more variety on the breakfast buffet and breakfast serving staff was quite grumpy. Otherwise really enjoyed our stay
Yesterday myself and my wife plus a friend who invited us to a carvery dinner at the park hotel. The carvery was ok beef a bit tuff the rest was good. Then my wife found a bit of string in her gammon the staff sorted it out by giving her a free dessert. We were disappointed by the lack of gluten free and dairy free dessert apart from that it was ok
Went to the restaurant for a meal with family - have been before and the food and service was excellent. This time however, it was very disappointing - food barely warm, over cooked potatoes were very tough. I had the roasted aubergine, with cheese. The Aubergine was not cooked, so I had the other vegetables which were reasonable, but again barely warm. The fruit place with sorbet was the only saving grace and the coffee was decent enough.
I have stayed at this amazing find twice now. It is so pleasing to stay somewhere that is actually as good as the photos. All areas of the hotel and rooms are immaculate and recently decorated, with good showers with strong water pressure!nnThe food both evening and breakfast is fantastic, but the really shinning star of a stay here is the staff.nnEveryone i have met is friendly, smiling, helpful and chatty. Thank you all for how well you look after all of your guests.nnSee you again soon
