Anglican Parish Church of Kendal also known as the Holy Trinity Church. Stunning. Beautiful. Impressive architectural marvel. There are two working organs there. Welcoming atmosphere. Wee café on site. Great venue for worshipping as well as socialising right in the centre of the city.
Went in to look round and were welcomed, given a leaflet and invited to have tea and home made cake. Two more people came and sat with us for a chat. Beautiful building adapted to modern needs, with some pews turned round making a square area for sociable spaces. Nice toilets. Very friendly people including the female vicar
A large and impressive church, dating from the 13th century, in a beautiful location between the high street and the river. I was given a really warm welcome from a volunteer who was obviously very proud of her church and who told me about its history. She also gave me a leaflet which proved very useful as it contains a tour plan and covers all the most interesting features. The church is wide and spacious inside with some lovely Victorian stained glass and quiet chapels containing old family tombs and memorials. Got a strong sense not only of its history but also of a vibrant community. There's a lovely view of the church in its leafy churchyard from the riverside path.
Lovely big church with cafe. Attended a fantastic lunchtime concert here and everyone was very friendly. However, for some inexplicable reason, we were not allowed to clap until the very end - I really think this policy is unnecessary and most discouraging for a performer.
Unusual church as it's so wide. Lovely inside and nice setting by the river.
