Stayed for one night for the Rangers game. Stunning hotel, lovely furnishings, tea and coffee choices. Modern shower and great wall mounted flat screen tv. Bar is probably the best hotel bar you will find, comfy chairs and chandeliers, and its open until two in the morning for hotel guests. Central Station a skip and a jump away. Top drawer hotel.
The rooms are very small with very little floor space, showers are average, beds are comfy. The decor is fancy but it’s all bells and whistles for a poor lot laid our hotel. The staff were 10/10 though which was the saving grace. All in all you could find a much better hotel for the same price of cheaper. Premier inn would have been a cheaper upgrade. Location is decent.
Great design and location! We were on the 11th floor, which had stunning huge windows overlooking Glasgow central station. The only drawback was the rooms were too hot with no aircon. The bed was massive and super comfortable. Breakfast was as delicious and the bar a lovely spot to people watch.Rooms: 4/5
UPDATE: I changed my review from 1 star to 4 because this morning staff moved me to a room on the second floor. It's much cooler and more comfortable than the one I had on the 9th floor. My advice is to request a room as low as possible if you like your room cooler at night. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This Motel One used to be my favorite hotel in Glasgow but this will be my last time staying with them. Unfortunately, management has decided to turn the ability to cool your room off and it is unbearably hot; even now at the end of October. I was given a fan by the front desk and told management turned the cooling system off. The window doesn't open wide enough to help much and it's too hot to sleep. It's not the employees fault so I gave 5 stars for service but I wouldn't recommend you stay here. The last time I stayed here I could regulate the room temperature. I'll be moving to a different hotel tomorrow.
Stayed here for a few nights and the reception Lady named Elena went above and beyond to accommodate me upon arrival, was patient extremely professional and made sure I was well looked after. Will definitely return to this hotel. Every Hotel needs an Elena. Nearby activities: Excellent Location Walkability: Great walking distance to most places. Food & drinks: Never Eaten in the establishment.
Terrible stay. Small. Noisy. Dirty room. Intermittent hot/cold water in the shower. No drinking water available. People arguing and shouting in rooms. The doors to rooms slam and shake your room too which constantly disturbs sleep. The only positive was a comfy bed. I had booked this place based on positive reviews. Would never stay here again.
Decent hotel with decent rooms. I enjoyed the breakfast, even though they were a little slow to refill/restock any items that had run out. The location was really good, very close to the city center. Walking distance to many important things in the city you’d want to see as a tourist. Rooms: Not very big, not very small. Decent mattress and a European plug! Walkability: Everything was walking distance for us Food & drinks: Many great restaurants nearby, be it local or “exotic” food
Good location. Heaps stuff around. Good room. Check out at midday gives us heaps time to enjoy the city. Good service. Nothing to complain except for no parking. But it’s clear they don’t provide parkingRooms: 5/5
Excellent location right in the centre of everything, loads of lovely restaurants and places to grab coffee along with two big shopping centres 5 minutes walk away. Couldn’t rate this hotel highly enough. We were able to leave our suitcases here before check in time and allowed to leave our bags the day of check out until our train. Staff were really helpful
Lovely Hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern clean and spacious. But the breakfast is atrocious. The area for breakfast is far too small for the size of the hotel. There are not enough staff on to tidy away the plates from the limited tables. There is no cooked breakfast option, just a very limited continental option. Due to the lack of staff constantly running out of items like cutlery, juice etc. Food & drinks: Wanting to mention again how awful the breakfast is. For hotel of the size and price this needs to be improved as a matter of urgency. Just not good enough. The breakfast area is so small there was guests being invited to eat their breakfast in the lobby area of the hotel! Just awful.
