Attended a wedding reception at this venue, the tables were dressed nicely, drinks were handed out on arrival and the recommended DJ was pretty good. 

The food was a buffet as expected, with the profiteroles and other desserts being the best parts by far. 

What let this place down was the lack of bar staff, they had one person serving for the entire evening, with no opportunity for her to take a break without leaving the bar unattended. People were waiting for drinks for up to 15 minutes, with some party members resorting to serving themselves. 

I do not place the blame on the bar staff at all, the blame lies with management. Other than that, it was a good night!

Went to a wedding reception at The Olive Tree yesterday. Two good sized function rooms. Lovely food, lovely staff, great atmosphere. Large car park. Would definitely recommend.

No issues with the venue itself only the catering. The buffet consisted of triangle sandwiches, cocktail sausages, mini pasties, two bowls of crisps, one bowl of cherry tomatoes, a cheese platter & the cheapest cake you can buy which was a Swiss roll. There were only 4 triangle sandwiches, 1 cocktail sausage roll & 1 mini pasty per person. This prevented my guests from going up for a second plate. Several guests which I had paid for did not turn up to the party on the day & there was still not enough food. I paid over £200 for the buffet & it looked like it cost no more than £30.  I did inform the owner a couple of days before that a few guests would not be attending the party therefore I would require a refund for these guests. She claimed that she never received my txt & never acknowledged it even when I did finally receive a message off her. Communication is very poor. By all means use the venue but please don’t waste your money on the buffet, do your own! Cheap & it certainly was not cheerful!

Lovely venue... two good sized function rooms, one with a balcony. The hog roast is delicious and reasonably priced. Would recommend.
