We stayed two nights B&B at this lovely traditional country pub. We were made very welcome. The room was clean and warm. The evening meal was superb, washed down with an assortment of real ales! The breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommendedRooms: 4/5
Very disappointed. We were looking forward to our stay and bringing our small dog to get away from the huge firework displays at home. We were told on booking that an event was going to be held in the evening that involved fireworks but they wouldn't last long, so after some drinks in the afternoon we decided to take a walk and go find food elsewhere whilst the fireworks were on. This wasn't an issue, the room was small but comfortable and clean. We came back and 9pm to find the pub still packed with people - again no problem, it was great to see pubs full again! What we wasn't advised was there was also a live band on that evening and our room was directly above it - it was incredibly loud to say the least but again we just stayed in the room with the dog and put the TV on loud. This was again not too much of an issue as we knew they should be finished by approx 11pm, but it would of been the courteous thing to do to have been informed when booking or at least on arrival, but we wasn't. The issue mainly was after the band had finished, some of the people in the bar that remained and were loud to say the least, which continued until way after 3am - again due to the location of our room this is possibly why it felt incredibly loud - like they were actually in our room keeping us awake! After approx 3 hours sleep, we woke and started packing and showering to get ready to leave at which point my partner asked me if breakfast was included As I booked the room over the phone where I asked for a receipt to be emailed, which never was I wasn't sure. Nothing was on the website as we checked, and nothing was said to us on arrival, the guy rushed us to our room as he was busy serving customers in the bar which is understandable, so no times or what was on offer if anything was given to us. So when we went to pack the car, my partner asked if breakfast was on offer, to which the girl replied - yes, but we only serve it until 9am and its 09:02 so we were too late! We said that we weren't even told about breakfast or times, tbh we would even of been happy with a bacon butty to takeaway, but offered nothing - even when telling her we were not informed of breakfast. Overall £105 for 1 night, no sleep, no breakfast was disappointing to say the least.
Just returned from a couple of days in the Yorkshire Dales and stayed at the Old Hall Inn at Threshfield. It's a very nice traditional dales pub with great food and beer . Breakfast was also excellent. The bar staff and waiting on Staff were first class and a special mention must go to the bar man called Dan who was absolutely first class and Who did everything he could to help.
Amazing place, the food is fantastic the staff are so nice and go above to make sure you have a fantastic stay or have the best experience even if your having a meal. Dan the bar manager is brilliant and will make sure you have the best time. A place to always return.Rooms: 5/5
Passed this place, turned around and had a lovely lunch, decided to book for the evening meal. Lovely, friendly staff. Food wad great, very filling. Came back the next day and evening. Food & drinks: We didn't stay, so I cannot comment, BUT the food was 1st class, proper Yorkshire food. No skimping on portions and reasonably priced too.
Lovely pub. Rooms are nice, BUT bathroom is awful for money charged. Food is good with good portions. Dog friendly, but with a surcharge.Rooms: 4/5
