I wish i had read the reviews before visiting. Completely overpriced and a rip off. Lesson learned now after being charged £33.50 for 2 bars of tablet, macaroon, edinbrugh rock and an ice cream. Utterly ridiculous! Also noticed the fudge they sold has their sticker shoved onto bars with a different weight from the original!! False advertising! And to add insult to injury one of the other packets of fudge has a hair inside the packet. I havent even opened it yet but will be going straight in the bin!
Most expensive ice cream we have ever had. £16 for a 2 scoop plain cone and 2 scoop tub. Rude aggressive deceitful disengaged attendant that was perhaps on something stronger than your usual cup of joe got everything wrong that we asked for. Complete tourist rip off, this used to be a nice place. Consistently pay less than half that for much better ice cream in the centre of Edinburgh. I didn’t even know it was possible for ice cream to taste stale?
Went to purchase tablet from this shop which we have used extensively in the past as a family from my parents down to my kids. Today was a massive disappointment tablet is now like a fudge texture, and the cost does not reflect the quality of the product. Sadly won't be back.Food: 1/5
Caution. Do not buy drinks here unless you've won the Euro lottery. Small bottle water for carry out £2. They are relying on you buying as part of series item where you don't notice. Robin Hood still lives in Callander!Food: 1/5
I was charged double for ice cream, 24 £ for two double ice cream. In addition, women charged us 4 pounds extra for something that she couldn't explain. I did receive a part refund anyway after 2 attempts. I wasn't bothered to argue about rest. Straight away can tell that she was dishonest. Very disgusting behaviour from some who provide service to people.
The tablet here is not authentic and is expensive. They are selling fudge as tablet for no reason. Tablet can be found at a Scottish supermarket so there's no need to sell fudge as tablet. Overpriced and disappointing. Amy Johnsons world famous Scottish tablet is not tablet.
BEWARE may contain NUTS or PEANUTS Worryingly the “Real Vanilla” fudge, sold in Callander with an ‘Old Fudge Shop’ label on, has been stuck over the original manufacturer’s label, it is actually made in Yorkshire!! The original label states may: contain nuts, peanuts & milk; the one stuck over the top, by the shop, alarmingly does not!! It is also sold at £4.50 for 150g when it only weighs 130g. Have just reported shop to Trading Standards Stirling.
Absolutely disgusting .. this shop needs to be monitored its a total rip off .how it can be allowed to keep ripping tourists off is beyond me .. these sweets fudges ect can be bought in places like b and ms ...and pound shops ...my own fault for not checking on trip advisor before I went in ...avoid at all costs unless you have won the lottery .3 macaroons .3 tablets .6 pieces of Turkish delight 30 pounds ....it spoilt my day I felt absolutely ripped off .
This place is absolutely shocking. £8.40 for very small bar of "Scottish Tablet" and small bag of boiled sweets . Sweets not great, tablet dreadful, not anything like Scottish Tablet. Threw half of it about 4 squares in bin. Avoid at all costs- Ian Ferniemy first ever 1 star review Food: 1/5
Absolutely ridiculous prices. The "world famous Scottish tablet" is no scottish tablet its fudge! Artificial and no taste!Food: 1/5
