The Oakhill Inn

About

Serving great locally sourced food with a great selection of local ales and ciders on tap. Our 4 star B&B offers the perfect place to stay.

Story

Our spacious but cosy Inn offers 5, AA 4 star en-suite rooms and the best award winning food and drink that Somerset and the south west have to offer. The pub is contemporary inside with real fires and real ale to be enjoyed. If the weather is fine our landscaped garden has a stunning view over the village church.
Oakhill village has an abundance of public footpaths and bridle ways and we have a great collection of ordinance survey maps for the walking enthusiasts amongst you. Dogs are very welcome at the pub and in the Inn, so bring your companion along to stay and enjoy some of the best dog walking the countryside has to offer.
We are also perfectly situated for many attractions in the area; Bath and Bristol are close by, Wells, Street, Glastonbury are but 10-20 minutes drive. The Royal Bath and West showground is just around the corner, so we’re a great base for showground judges and show goers alike

Just 6 miles away is a local scuba diving center in Vobster, as well as local caving and pot holing. Wookey Hole and Longleat safari park are also close by.
The pub has its own car park that is situated 20 yards before or after the pub itself (depending on which direction you’re travelling in) on the A367. If that is full there is plenty of parking along High Street.

Book a table for a party of nine for a meal on a Sunday. Very disappointed is an understatement!! When we arrived we sat at our table with no menus so had to go and get our own. There were 9 main meals on the Sunday, the beef was out of stock so 8. When we decided what wanted only to be informed there was actually only two pork and three chicken........ so for 4 people their choice had to be fish & chips, burger, ham, egg & chips or a nut roast. No starters on the menu was disappointing. We were sat by the kitchen and yet still freezing cold, it was dark and dingy. One of the burgers didn’t come out until we asked, neither did our roast potatoes (for the lucky ones who actually got a roast!!!) when our food was served it was served stone cold & actually had to be sent back to be cook.......... THEN they even put a ‘service charge’ on the bill, like no - you’re not getting that after that service.......

Great pub. Had many a pint here after diving nearby at Vobster. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and a nice range of drinks on offer. I've tried a few special ciders here, although I don't really remember much about them for some reason! :)

Food is delicious and freshly prepared. Friendly staff. Selection of ales on tap. Small car park for customers which is a short walk to the front door but also able to park on the road a shorter walk away. Has a lovely beer garden with plenty of tables. Quiz on the first Monday of the month is very entertaining. Would definitely recommend.

Staff very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely (although the roast menu didn't include lamb). Our request for extra roast potatoes and vegetables was happily agreed to. Highly recommended
