A historic nut shop of Leeds market for nearly 70 years. Go buy some nuts and listen to the cashing machine. Amazing how it works. Good to visit and nice talk with the shoppers. Just next to the clock of Marks and Spencer. Last thing but important, prefer cash if you want to see cash machine performance.
Bought a bag of jam paper cover yesterday but all rubber bands were too old, and cannot use. I can’t imagine how long this stuffs was sitting there. I usually buy in crafts stores but I really want to encourage local family shops more. I am hoping it won’t happen again.
Have visited this little unit in the market several times over the past few years and always find them really friendly and helpful. The produce comes in paper bags or you can take your own tubs to fill so all very good for the environment. Prices very reasonable too. Such a good range of dried goods like rice, pasta, oats, flaked almonds, along with dried fruits and herbs and spices, and lots of things for making cakes. I feel sad I'm not in Leeds more often to visit this place as they remember me when I visit and make me feel so welcome. We should all do more to support local businesses like this.
I have previously used the Xmas cake mix from here but a friend used to get it for me , but this year he couldn't so I thought we'd have a trip out to get it . When we got there the lady serving looked a bit grumpy. I asked for the cake mix she didn't smile just took the money. We noticed some chocolate Brazil nuts in a tub and my partner asked her how much a tub was she didn't seem to want to help us at all not smiling. Then we asked if u could buy the tubs she looked horrified oh no she said we don't supply the tubs which prob didn't cost a lot . We couldn't be bothered to stay and talk as she obviously didn't want to and she missed out on a sale . Don't know if I'd travel all that way to get the cake mix again next year after a frosty reception if small businesses want customers then surely a smile doesn't cost anything ??
Great selection of food and ingredients. Can take my own tubs to refill. Love chatting to Mr and Mrs Nut Shop too! Very pleasant shopping experience and have helped me get through lockdown
Very rude assistant we were going to spend quite a large amount of money as done in previous years due to high volume of baking. Will NEVER ever go back there. Attitude and service very RUDE. Ordering online in future, somewhere else obviously.
Great little place, selling all kinds of nuts, seeds, grains and dried fruit. The owners are lovely and its great to see them supporting zero waste by encouraging people to bring in their own containers, they even gave me a free tote bag for supporting the cause. Definitely be visiting more.
I went there to ask about some gold modelling paste. I was told that the PME gold spray was better but tried to tell the old blonde women that the roses i have to make are to fine for the spray as if they get even the slightest bit wet they start to melt and become deformed. She then got very rude stating she had over 20 years experince with PME products and that wouldnt happen. Suprise is i already tried the spray and it deformed my roses so told her id rather pay more online than give her my time or custom. I was very uncomfortable talking to her as she began to get very defensive over her products that i didnt want rather than telling me about the product i wanted.
I don't know why that Blonde haired women is so rude. I kindly asked if they do Red dried apples and she gave me such a disgusting look! I only asked... she could of just said "No, sorry" Instead of giving me a such bad attitude.
Very friendly staff. They gave my little boy some dried mango as he was teething and it calmed him right down. Always the place to get my nuts and baking supplies. Thanks!
