Met up with family for lunch. I found it a wonderful place. For the price the food is really good, my niece described hers as the best burger ever. The staff were great; friendly and cheerful. There's a bar area and restaurant area. We were sat in the bar area because of a function in the restaurant. They had the football on the big screen but it was quiet enough for us to talk across the table. Only thing I'd complain about was the result of the football! Would definitely go back.
Really nice pub. Found this place by accident whilst looking for a carvery pub. The Sunday roast was amazing. Really good tasting food, and lots of it! Good quality food. We got lots of chicken. Maybe too much!! It was great! Great value food as well. The whole pub was clean and smart looking. The staff were friendly and helpful. Especially Alison, our server. A really friendly and helpful American lady. I've been in a few pubs over the weekend, and this pub had the cleanest male toilet area I'd seen in a while, and this was at 3pm on Sunday afternoon! What a great pub. Its a shame we don't live closer, because if I did, I'd be here regularly.
Went for a post Christmas drink with my brother in law. It has to be said the selection of pagers was brilliant . The service was friendly and prompt and a nice chilled atmosphere. It has recently been refurbished too, so it looks really nice. Highly recommendedFood: 4/5
Tasty Christmas meal! The pub has been done up really nicely following the refurb, so it’s well worth going. The staff as always are very accommodating and welcoming, and it’s a relaxed, family friendly atmosphere.
We used to come x2 monthly on a Sunday for the carvery. But found the meat was a disappointment some was raw and some was very chewy it happened on a few occasions. You don't mind once but it was like I said quite often .but other then that management are lovley atmosphere lovley and the owner is absolutely fantastic. XService: 5/5
Would have been a two-star rating if it was just for the food the sausage came undercooked and frankly still frozen in the middle but the service from Josh and Allison completely made up for it. They treated us super well and went out of the way to apologise and take corrective action. Anyway, owners should take note that the slipshod kitchen not only created bad food, but additional unnecessary stress on your frontline staff. Those two staff are gems, take care of them. Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly because of the wonderful staff
Visited for Sunday lunch with family. It was a rather disappointing experience. Firstly by 12.30pm there was no Roast Beef available then when we did receive our food the vegetables were cold and watery save the roast potatoes and parsnip. Staff were apologetic and replaced the vegetables but I would guess the vegetables had been pre-cooked and then reheated in a microwave. On ordering desserts two of the family ordered Warm Salted Caramel Fudge cake. Unfortunately no salted Carmel could be detected and the cake as not warm! Whilst not unpalatable it was a disappointment and was really just a chocolate fudge cake. This was pointed out to the young waitress but she was rather adamant to the point of rudeness that the cake was salted caramel and 'what you ordered"! The staff in general were polite and friendly with the exception of the one incident and the food was of a good quality. It was just let down by the poor execution of the vegetables and the description of the Salted Caramel dessert.
Our visit was perfect from the moment we entered the Nightingale and were greeted so warmly by Kieran. We love Kieran! The newly refurbished pub has undergone the most beautiful transformation and is immediately cosy and inviting. We were shown to our table, drinks order taken and delivered within a couple of minutes. Alison is the perfect waitress, she is very welcoming, on hand without being intrusive and nothing is too much trouble for her. We love Alison! The Roast Turkey lunch was delicious, hot, fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and lovely moist Turkey with plenty of gravy. We love gravy! The desserts, Profiteroles and Christmas Pudding with cream, were equally as delicious. Our only minor disappointment was not finding a mini screwdriver set in our crackers! My sister had travelled from Gloucestershire to have her first Festive Meal of the season with me and we spent a very enjoyable couple of hours together. Many thanks Team Gale, you rock!
Lovely to see a good choice of vegan options that are not fake meat. The curry was really tasty. Great service too Dietary restrictions: Good choice for vegans
It’s a very nice estate pub, recently refurbished, very helpful and friendly staff, food was good, beer fine. I would recommend it.
