(Also share Brandans view below! Reception have to know what your appointment is for. Always ask you to call on the morning for an appt. I can't do that with CFS!!) Tried explaining this. Several incidents at this doctors with different ppl. Rude staff, Change my appt. time without telling me then tell me I need to rebook when I arrive, told I "can't have it all ways!" by receptionist when I needed an afternoon appt due to health reasons. doctors reluctant to give injections as that's 'a nurses job' but no one else free or they won't do it, nurse on holiday and no one told me and no one else to give injection when it is urgent I have them every week (uncaring), unsympathetic doctors who don't have your best interests. Feel distrustful and frustration! Nurse threw away my sample without explaining why, until she did it (and even then not a good enough reason), caused me extreme anxiety and cried for hours. No relationship with any doc and I NEED consistently with my mental health. Asked for list of docs and wasn't able to be given one because of there reshuffle of staff. Talking of which reception didn't apologie for there mess up with crucial injection appt, and instead kept saying it was because of there reshuffle (bs)). I have mobility issues and this is my nearest so worried I can't get to another doctor. On the best of days I struggle to get to this one, so it's even worse when they keep messing up my appt. And all are crucial for my wellbeing. I have serious ongoing issues that aren't being addressed, and as such, they are PROLONGING my ill health as I get more ill going to doctors (CFS/BPD) and the added stress. It is not a safe space and given me more anxiety

Receptionists are nothing but rude. They sound like they're always trying to get off the phone. They will make a problem with you if you don't tell them what your appointment is for. And if it's not serious enough for them then they will tell you to call back tomorrow just so they don't have to deal with you. Why should it matter how serious it is? I want an appointment. The people who suffer with anxiety etc, it can be such an effort to pick up the phone when it gets bad. So to make that effort and then talk to a rude b**** on the phone who tries to get off? Nah. I've decided to change my doctors after that. And you're ringing to fix/help YOUR problem. Not make it worse. The doctors however, they are good! If you can get a bloody appointment.

Just spoken to a very helpful Receptionist called Julie, who introduced herself on the phone and proceeded to book me the earliest possible appointment. Receptionists should always give their name - it establishes a rapport and sense of common purpose between patient and Receptionist.
