Cafe is nice but very expensive. It's lovely in summer because you can sit outside in lovely big garden, but the actual space inside cafe is small.

Normally would pop in here before or after a visit to first site. Always something intetesting to look at in the Gallery and they have now got a Tiptree tea rooms cafe which is nice - albeit better in the summer weather when you can sit out in the little garden out the back.

A lovely, independent art gallery with a great shop and cafe. The art shown is a great selection by local artists, as is the produce in the cafe and the jewelry, art, paintings etc in the gift shop. They catered perfectly to my friends vegan needs , the chef himself came out and made the effort to talk her through the menu and ingredients. The service is always friendly and the art is amazing. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Colchester.

Friendly gallery with regularly changing inspired exhibitions.Shop which showcases a unique selection of works by students,tutors & alumni of Colchester School of art artists & makers. New ownership tea rooms serving excellent food. A real gem !

Café has changed ownership. Now a Wilkin & Sons Ltd tearoom.  Gone is the eclectic menu with real food & the proper arty feel replaced by corporate decor and a standard uninspirng menu you can get anywhere.  Ploughmans(£8.95) and a warm beer(£3.75) it's all a bit meh.
