Food was very tasty and portions were really decent. Not a huge menu 3-4 options per category, but Overall we were made to feel valued and service was alright, but there were some long waiting times about 25mins between starter and main -after we finished our starter- and about 15mins until we actually managed to pay -we were trying to catch the attention of one of the waiters. Value for money was good, £15pp for a main and a shared starter large charcruterie board for 4ppl.
We were waiting 50 min for the main. Service was slow, we never got asked if the food is ok. My partner got sour beer which was off. Gravy for the sausages was too salty and texture was not great. Desert was appalling..... It would be OK for a pub, but not for a place which has Michelin star. Gastro menu was ordinary, nothing special. 1.5 star
Went for my birthday and had an excellent meal, some of the best food I've eaten for a while. I would definitely book in advance at busy times and I recommend looking at the menu online in advance as it is limited, so if you don't like one or two things you could be stuck. Both the food and the service was exemplary and very well priced on the three courses deal.
The milestone would easily get 5 stars if was always consistent. Sometimes I’ve been and the food has been incredible and then other times it’s been pretty average. Unfortunately I feel like the restaurant was at its peak a few years ago. However, if you’re using one of the many deals The Milestone offers you can get some great value deals so still worth a visit.
Not the best visit. Came for a family Sunday lunch and things weren't great. We were seated upstairs which would be fine except the kitchen kept making large amounts of smoke which meant the window next to our table had to be opened in January! Which made it very cold. I would suggest if they can't get the extraction sorted don't seat people upstairs. The food itself was ok, my starter was nice the roasts were ok. Although the gravy was tasteless and sweet. Service was very slow, took ages to get drinks and ages for each course. Didn't seem to have enough staff on although those working were nice and working very hard. Took nearly 3 hours for 3 courses. Definitely won't be back for Sunday lunch might give it another go on a weeknight to see if they can do better. Overall disappointed.
What a hidden gem down kellem island. The food was top notch couldn't fault it . And the service was spot on. We will definitely going back for another visit
We have visited many times and always had a warm welcome the food is excellent and the drinks also great choices staff are very knowledgeable happy to recommend
Just been here for a staff do. Absolutely beautiful food. Presentation was incredible. Cooked perfectly. Huge shout out to put waitor/bar staff Dylan. He was polite. Holds a brilliant conversation and is one of the few bar people who can do a real cocktail. This man needs recognition thank you. Would recommend to any one to have a meal there. Wonderful experience.
Food was really nice but the service left a lot to be desired. I had to ask for the menu after sitting there for 10 minutes, ordered a glass of wine with my meal but then had to remind them 5 minutes into eating my meal. The worst thing was being served butter mixed with dripping in the bread and butter starter when 2 of the party were vegetarian which we had discussed with the waiter when ordering our meals! He omitted to tell us until asked by my son what the unusual taste was obviously most of it had been consumed by now. Needless to say we didn't leave a tip. Almost forgot that the waiter also never mentioned the special offer on between 5 and 7.
Lovely decor, quite busy but expected on a Sunday, starter of whitebait was nice and duck parfait was said to be lovely. The roasts were disappointing expected more, beef sirloin was outstanding however everything else was below par. Roast potatoes were dry and under seasoned and the Yorkshire pudding was stodgy, soft and cold. Service was attentive little slow but not a problem. Would return to try the main menu but not the roast again.
