We booked a spa day with afternoon tea for a treat for six of us before my sister wedding! What a lovely day. The spa was immaculate, the team very friendly, helpful and professional. The pool area had plenty of space and different areas to use. We were also able to relax outside in the sunshine. We each had a 55 minute treatment which was heavenly. We were never rushed or neglected. I would highly recommend.
Thoroughly enjoyed our girlie's event. We all loved our full body massage and chilling in the health spa. Afternoon tea was lovely and catered for my vegan lifestyle. I probably would have appreciated some fresh fruit. A definite booking once the hotel facilities have been completely renovated. One recommendation ripped, damaged towels, and robes do not reflect the quality standards of the spa. Food & drinks: Very accommodating in terms of food preferences. Let them know in advance if you are vegan so they can ensure they catered for all your needs.
Absolutely amazing. Me and my husband got a voucher off Groupon and had a 55 minute massage each, afternoon tea and the day in the spa. Courtney did my massage, half back and shoulders and half facial. Absolutely unbelievable! My husband had a full body massage off Carly who was also amazing! Food was delicious and the amenities were great.
Came for an afternoon round of golf and was really impressed. The course was in good condition, no mats off the fairways lift, clean and place everywhere and the greens were fast and true. There is lots of refurb work taking place at the moment so the course is laid out differently but really enjoyed the round. Food afterwards was lovely and the staff super friendly.
We used the spa facilities, and not the hotel. Afternoon tea and treatments were lovely. Changing room clean and ample room. However the dressing gown i had holes in it! Which I mentioned to a cleaner to get rid of it as let's the whole side down. My partner gown was fine. Think the spa generally needs to expand to offer more for the price. Staff were welcoming, and helpful. Our treatments were amazing, Emily and Alicia were fabulous.
Booked an afternoon tea with Prosecco for my mum's 80th birthday. We were seated almost immediately, in a beautiful warm room over looking the gardens and front entrance. Staff very attentive and offered refills of tea, coffee. I was very pleased that I had the choice of plant based milk. The afternoon tea consisted of finger sandwiches I requested vegetarian and scones with jam and clotted cream, and a selection of small cakeslemon drizzle/cherry&almond slices it was a very pleasant afternoon and would definitely do it again
I visited for a spa day with a couple of friends for a birthday treat for one of them. The reception staff were lovely, afternoon tea and staff in restaurant lovely. The spa area very basic. One sauna smelt really bad, another wasn’t on at all and the salt room didn’t appear to be doing anything, there looked like a place where a bowl of something should be but wasn’t. This meant there was 1 small sauna and steam room for everyone. I had either a facial or full body massage with the package. Once in the treatment room I selected the massage, the therapist didn’t seem very happy about it when I selected the massage and said it will just be a very light relaxing massage not a firm one. Then once on the bed I had my arms bent up at the sides of my head and the therapist said very sternly arms by your sides. I was really uncomfortable but didn’t feel like I could say. Her tummy was also completely resting on the back of my head during the treatment which made it even more uncomfortable. It was very clear she did not want to do the massage. It was extremely light and was very obvious that she couldn’t be bothered. I talked all the way through to pass the time and feeling of awkwardness. It most definitely was not an hour but I didn’t mind. She asked at one point if I get regular massages and I replied I own a salon so try to but not as often as I should. She commented that someone saying they were a therapist used to make her feel on edge but not any more. I wasn’t trying to make someone feel on edge I was just answering the question. The mere are getting lots of work done and I feel they are not keeping on top of the current facilities while this is being completed.
We didn't stay just a spa day. The treatments were fantastic and well organised. All of the staff were lovely. The facilities are clean and the swimming pool and jacuzzi were fantastic. The sauna, steam rooms, ect were all fab! We had the sparkling afternoon tea which was lovely and included a hot drink, I thought this was a little bit small but each item was delicious
Booked a spa day. Massage was lovely as was the therapist. The therapist tells you keep hydrated but no one tells you where to access drinks throughout the day. The front of house chap insisted any drinks had to be paid for at the end excluding water Previous spa’s I’ve been to usually provide complimentary drinks throughout including latté’s. There is also nowhere to fully relax. You only get put in the relaxation room only 4 beds after your treatment but then after that when more people come through post treatments there is only the pool area, bar area & steam rooms. I did not find the spa very peaceful & even with signs on the wall saying ‘quiet area’, a bunch of women were chatting at the top of their voices waiting for treatments, which I could hear down the corridor from the relaxation room. I get people will talk amongst themselves whilst on a spa day, but they were really loud/shouting in a ‘quiet area’. The jacuzzi is attached to the pool & it went off for a long period of time, which meant just sitting in luke warm water! Afternoon tea was lovely & staff on the bar helpful & friendly. Overall, I’m not sure I would go back for a full spa day for the £100+ that they charge. I left early sadly. Treatment & afternoon tea- Great. Relaxation facilities- Not so great!
Really nice vegan afternoon tea. Loved the sauna and steam in the changing rooms. Code lockers. Lots of towels and robes available for day spa guests. Sadly stains on robe. Pretty clean. Could do with some deep cleaning/tlc of mould in tiles and caulking. 5 rooms and a big hot tub with different types of jets and a pool and heated loungers. Too many kids for a spa day though. Full body massage was nice and firm - could do with a few fancy add-ons like scents. Food & drinks: Great vegan afternoon tea available
