Absolutely amazing day. Loads of activities and pop ups . Parking off-site was a little expensive £15 all day . However entrance is free and if you want to buy from the stalls or what not then that's your choice. Loved Archery as well. I would highly recommend for a family day out. I can honestly say I fell asleep at 6pm after going and woke up at 2am what a day .
Beautiful walk that ends with ‘The Major Oak’. We have done both the Greenwood trail and the Wildwood trail in different seasons. The foliage and the wilderness feels very different in different seasons across the year. It is free to visit, with paid parking options. Parking is easy & accessible and volunteers are helpful.
Great place to take the kids/dogs for a walk or just go for a ramble yourself. There's a car park near the visitor centre that is a single fee for the day and a cafe at the visitor centre, though be warned it closed for cooked food at 3pm Saturday. The Major Oak is of course the main attraction for many, but we wanted a quiet walk in the woods. Having seen the car park was almost full, we thought getting some peace would be impossible. However, there are lots of trails and once you get away from the Oak you find it quiet and peaceful. We walked for a couple of hours, and for most of that time we only occasionally passed other people. Very nice!

It's an old tree with a zimmer frame. Sure, it's legendary, but it's just an old tree. That said, there's cool things to do around it, like axe throwing and archery, plus food and drink usually. We happened to come by on the day of the Robin Hood Festival so there were more people around than usual and more stalls, but it's a good time every time we go. But seriously, it's just a big old tree. You have to see it at least once while you're in the area, but old tree.

I was wore disappointed. The grass strong it is overgrown and it just looks really neglected, even though I assume it isn’t.
Considering the tree is between 800 and 1100 years old and still standing is amazing. Sherwood forest had some great hiking trails. I came off season, so it wasn't crowded.
