Very tasty food this evening, not the cheapest but if it’s good quality then we don’t mind that. There are some vegan options which is great! Unfortunately they don’t do vegan onion bhajees like some of the other Indian restaurants we use but fingers crossed this is something that they will rectify soon as it’s a big must have for the vegans in our family.
I am gutted to be posting such a negative review - been a customer for over 20 years. Ordered a Chicken Tikka Passanda and Chicken Dhansak - 2 mushroom Rice and a Peshwari nan. Nan didn't arrive and the Chicken was tough and not a lot of sauce and then discovered a hair in it. Rang the restaurant asked me three times what my order was and no sorry, no offer to do anything and then hung up on me. Will not be visiting again
Awful service and food Some of the order was missing called up and asked them to send it over. 40 mins later I called and the manager was so rude he hung up on me. When we eventually ate our food it was disgusting. All we could taste was vinegar. This place has gone massively down hill. As far as we were concerned this use to be the best Indian around but no where near now. Awful.
Tried ordering through the website not working rang at least 10 times no answer very disappointing as normally a good take away
Terrible! Ordered a lamb maharajah special for the “lamb” to be BEEF!! The rice was also watery! And when I rang to complain about the main I was told by the OWNER that my taste buds must be off . I know the difference in taste and texture of lamb and beef!! I will never get anything from here again and would advice anyone with “working” taste buds not to bother either.
Fantastic food and really fast delivery. Always on time every time. Had a wrong meal delivered on one occasion and they resolved with no issue and a sincere apology. Replacement was delivered with no quibble within 20 minutes. I highly recommend this establishment.
This was one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in all of England! The food is cooked with so much love and flavor! The wait staff are very helpful and professional. The ambiance is lovely! It was also really packed with locals on a weekday night- I was very impressed.
I ordered a takeaway from the Maharajah as I have done numerous times before. However, this time the poppadoms tasted as though they were cooked in rancid fat. Normally the food is first class albeit a tad expensive. The rest of the meal was up to the normal high standard, so I will consider this a one off.
Ordered our second takeaway from here this weekend. For me it completely outshines RWB curry houses and is excellent. Would be 5 stars if the urge2eat website could be improved. Enjoyed the dhansak, jalfrezi, mixed grill and the sag paneer was lovely. Bread and rice good too. Will be reordering! I would recommend smaller pieces of chicken in the curries though this is just our preference; note not less just smaller pieces! Oh and really fast delivery too.
We had a delivery from maharajah it was half hour early, we moved from reading to swindon and we have struggled to find a good Indian. We ordered maharajah special chicken tikka bhoona it around £4 more than a normal bhuna but it was well worth it. The food from this restaurant is outstanding. Highly recommend.
