Cracking old style boozer. Seems to be a popular local as most people seemed to know each other but they were warm enough to the passing trade. Excellent location just off the waterfront Not sure if food was on offer. I was entertaining an old work colleague from my Middle East days and he liked the whole Egremont to New Brighton feel. I seem to recall a real fire? If so, would be great in the winter.

Charming old world neighbourhood pub with the atmosphere to match. Very friendly and welcoming from staff and customers. Warming open fire on a cold day and steeped in history. Really good selection of drinks. Shame it doesn't offer food anymore. This was famous locally for being frequented by smugglers. Legend has it of smugglers tunnels underneath. Places like this are dying out only to be converted into homogeneous pub-alike establishments or private houses. Well worth seeking out.
