Story

The Long Room was opened in 2007 following the refurbishment of the worn-out Mitre Hotel. We offer 15 hotel rooms and a stylish bar.

We serve food from 12-3pm and 6.30-9.30 from Monday to Friday.
On Saturdays we serve food from 9.30-9pm, and Sunday until 6, with a range of Sunday roasts.

We host a range of live bands playing every Friday at 9pm so come on down and join us for a memorable night - if you are interested in playing please get in touch.

Monday and Wednesday get involved in our Poker nights, and Thursday try your hand at Darts.

We offer a fantastic beer garden in the front and the rear for those sunny days, so pop in for a light refreshment or two.

We also cater for functions, offering a section of the pub to you and your loved ones for free. For more information please contact the pub through either phone or email.

The espresso martini was absolutely delicious. The pretzel was delicious and a great moment. Overall it’s a great space to go hangout, catch up, watch the game. Great find for dinner before Broadway play. We wanted something a little more casual than fine dining and The Long Room was ideal. Pretty good beer selection, food upscale but not fancy. Great location, theatre was right around the corner. Scotch egg was terrific, sandwiches and flatbread pizzas also tasty.Food: 5/5

Used the hotel voucher to come here for breakfast. There wasn't that many staff in the morning, so kinda busy and some food was served to the wrong table. I forgot what did I order in particular sorry But the owner is the NICEST I've seen IN A WHILE! Reminds me of my grandma. And everything's back on track when the bartender and more staff are here. Very Lovely lady, definitely coming back for nighttime drinks.
We were looking for a place to eat before our Broadway show. Great find! Delicious fish and chips, fried calamari and the pudding for dessert was to die for. Went there around 6:15 on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Loved the vibe! The server was also very fast considering how packed it was. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
Love this bar. It reminds me of small midwestern tavern. Great cozy atmosphere. Bartenders are always welcoming and helpful in picking a beer or cocktail. Great selection of beers and liquor as well. Weekends they have live music but thankfully it’s not over bearing so people can still talk and have a good time.Service: 5/5
Perfect place to grab a drink and snack before a show. Bartender was awesome this last Sunday around 1pm, she helped us make our show perfectly on time with what we ordered and made a gorgeous cocktail. Also extra A+ to this place for accepting the blood donation vouchers for a free drink!
I reserved a spot but I really didn't have to. The place was mostly empty on the Friday night that I came. I was seated and served immediately and the atmosphere is one of a dimly lit restaurant compared to some others. They also had a live band inside. The music wasn't loud so it went well with the place. The waiter came by with a small glass of water and I ordered my food. I got the crispy calamari, the long room burger and bread pudding. The crispy calamari was good and came with marinara sauce and another sauce that had a strong lemon flavor. I wished the portion sizing on it was larger. The dish seemed small for the amount of money. The burger was good as well and I requested mashed potatoes since that is one of the sides. I don't like it when the skin is mashed in the potato, but I didn't know that beforehand. I ate it anyway and went on to eat the burger. The burger was so good that I completely forgot to remove the tomato since I don't like them with my burgers. I also decided to leave in the bacon even though normally, I take that out. It's one of the best burgers that I've had and that is with 2 ingredients that I don't like with my burger. The bread pudding was hot and I didn't expect that, but it was delicious. I wished there was more of that instead of such a small serving.
We had the best experience here. My husband and I came here for breakfast every single day on our NYC trip. Lilly hands down makes this place and is an absolute credit to the Long Room. We have never had such amazing service and Lilly went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. She truly is a unique person who deserves every success in life. Lilly is a fantastic host and is a talent far greater than anything you could ask for in the service industry. We feel so lucky to have met her, she really made our trip memorable and we will forever remember her for her kindness and enthusiasm. Cannot recommend this place highly enough if only for the company! Thank you!!!
