This place is great. Food is delicious. Atmosphere is classic. The service is on point! Just go here if you get a chance, preferably between 5-7 or 9-11 for live music. They also have “The Locke Whiskey” it’s an in house blend and it’s really good!
My boyfriend and I were there last Monday on the last night of our holiday in Ireland and we couldn’t have asked for more!nnThe food was great and so the ambiance. The entertainment was even greater!nnShout out to those three super talented young musicians and the girl who danced along!nnThat night was the real cherry on the cake!
Once we were ready to head out for dinner, we were looking forward to checking out Limerick at night and visiting The Locke Bar August 2023. Both the hotel staff and Dean from Treaty Bar had recommended it, as well as finding it during our planning, we felt it was the must-do place. Thankfully, Dean told us that the fish tacos were the best option and let me just say... He was right, absolutely delicious!! Quite possibly this was the best meal we had eaten. The bar was busy when we got there around 8:30pm, and even though we couldn't find a place inside to eat, they had literally over a hundred tables. We got one that was mostly under the awning and luckily the rain kept to a light drizzle until we were done eating. The process was efficient and the food came out fresh. We split one order of the fish tacos and one order of the shrimp tacos and both came with french fries chips and all of it was super flavorful and delicious. The tacos reminded me of Pedros from home but instead had the chili mayo.nAfter we ate, we managed to get a table inside the bar to listen to some traditional live music. The musicians were very good and would take requests. Sometimes a traditional Irish dancer would join them and she was also very good. The energy in the place was fun and lively and we were definitely glad with our choice to go there!
My first time visiting Shannon and the Locke bar did both disappoint. Our server Rafael greeted us and sat us next to the bar.nHe was really great with his recommendations and if we had questions we had the answers.nWe had the Clam chowder, Prawns, Pear Salad, and another local dish. The drinks were also amazing. I had a Whiskey sour and a Stag beer. My friend could not get over how delicious the Espresso martini was. And to top it off, we ordered the crème brûlée. This was my highlight.
We were at the Locke Bar to hear the Irish music and to see the Irish dancing. It was fun. We got there before 4:30, and then the place filled up within 10 minutes! Many people had reservations, which we did not. I definitely recommend visiting! Summer hours of music is 5-7pm, and 9-11pm. Winter hours is 9-midnight. 7 days a week!
