Excellent service. Unreal food. Chatty staff. Went after a matinee show in the opera house and it was so close for walking. Music was at a good level that you couldn't hear the conversations at other tables and still hear yourselves! All of us ordered different food from the lre theatre. Squid was beautiful. As was the soup of the day. Mains were to die for!
My wife and I were traveling to NI from the US and stopped in Belfast for a couple nights. The Lantern was great. The service was very friendly and comfortable. We had the salmon and supreme chicken, both delicious and cooked to perfection. Weren’t rushed to finish our food or wine. And we finished off with the creme brûlée. Five stars!
Booked online and got a nice friendly confirmation phone call. Very convenient to the City Hall and main shopping areas. Place was very busy, people laughing and in good cheer. Welcomed and seated by lovely staff. Service was excellent, food and drinks delivered quickly and efficiently. Had spring rolls as starter and the beef for dinner was exceptional, so tasty. Had a really good dining experience here, and when back in Belfast next, will certainly be calling again!
1st visit this evening and will definitely be returning soon! Great service, attentive and welcoming staff followed by delicious food. Excellent choice and value on the pre theatre menu. Looking forward to the next visit
Fab meal at The Lantern. Food was delicious. Friendly service & relaxed, warm atmosphere. Great background music.Food: 5/5
Great little restaurant. Small and cosy, don't let the restaurant front put you off. The Lantern has great food, lovely wine and very friendly staff.
The Lantern is a relatively small bistro that is big on flavor. Every dish was cooked to perfection and the flavors were delectable. The staff were very friendly and the chef certainly knows what he is doing. I have lived in Chicago for many years and eaten at several renowned restaurants and the Lantern is easily as good as if not better than the best of them. If you're in Belfast do yourself a favor and book a table at the Lantern, I most certainly will next time I'm in town.
Despite being small and unassuming, you’d be making a mistake in overlooking this place. The food was exceptional the roast chicken supreme was cooked to perfection. High quality food and service, me and my partner came over from Manchester and felt extremely accommodated. An excellent choice and one of the best meals we’ve had in Belfast, we’d endeavour to come back.
Excellent customer service from the reception when you come in through the door, great foodFood: 4/5
We came for dinner, had a 3 course meal. For starters , we had chowder and squid, both extremely good! My husband had the steak for main, he loved it. My risoto was good, however, I could over taste the stock in it. For desert, I had a Delicious moist brownie very sweet and my husband had the sticky toffee pudding, a bit too sweet for my taste. Great roast coffee and wine. Overall , a great place to go.
