Lovely place for food and drink. We went in for Sunday roast. Good choice of roasts. Beef, chicken, pork, nut and even turkey. Staff were very friendly and helpful, providing extra gravy with the main course and an additional scoop of ice cream on our desserts. We also managed a cheeky little Espresso Martini, which was amazing. Highly recommended.
I love this place. Always tasty food and a good atmosphere. I go for the vegan option every time and it never disappoints. They have live music some weekends and DJ's and themed nights. One of the best pubs in Northampton.
Lovely cosy local pub. Happy well organised friendly staff. Great beer and tasty snacks. Popped in for a quiet St Patrick’s Day catch up and drink with chums and loved it.
Having attended a venue near to Northampton, I searched up a place for Sunday lunch, and based on reviews decided on The Lamplighter. The reviews are justified, the pub is lovely and has loads of character, some places have a vibe and atmosphere this is one such place. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, but not intrusive, when asked a question abut ciders it was answered with knowledge. The five of us had roast dinners, pork, beef, gammon and a nut roast. The food was sublime, everything cooked nicely and presented beautifully. Furthermore I belive The Lamplighter was excellent value for money, not cheap, but not silly gastro pub prices that are nearing £20 for some stringy beef. It was a 45 minute journey home for me and I have to say I would make the drive for food like this. Thank you to the staff and owners for doing so well.
Undisputed best pub in Northampton. I always believe the strength of any business is their people. The staff is so pleasant to interact with and so courteous. Great selection of ales, and unbeatable food quality!
We came here for Sunday dinner after more good recommendations than I can remember - and I have to say the high praise was well warranted! I can easily say that all the staff there were lovely, the food was gorgeous sorry for the lack of main’s picture, I was too excited to eat it to get one lol The entire experience was amazing and we’ll definitely be coming here again - p.s Thankyou again chefs I’m one happy girl
Their vegan tapas Tuesdays are delicious! You'd might not know it's vegan if you weren't told, I am delighted every time I come. I try to dine here whenever I'm in Northampton. The staff are very friendly and well known. I have yet to try their roast dinner but apparently it's the best
Thanks to all at the Lamplighter for a great Christmas Party on Friday 2nd December. They catered for 24 of us and the food was served all at the same time and was very good. Quality beer, a lovely dining area, excellent bar area and great fun with the disco and really, really friendly staff. Everyone had a great time. Well done The Lamplighter. Top marks.
Doesn't look impressive from outside. Went there Sat evening when there was a 10 year anniversary party going on. I wasn't expecting a lot because of the party but couldn't have been more wrong, the young, slim dark haired server took us upstairs was very polite and helpful, I loved the decor upstairs, the food and service were amazing, nothing was too much and we were checked on regularly even though the pub was very busy. We will definitely go back and would recommend. We have had Sunday roasts there, again they were lovely
My local, a lovely pub, well managed with excellent staff who go out of their way to make your visit special. The food is also very good and great value. Would highly recommend.
