I seriously cannot believe the treatment my friend and I received today. Last straw was waiting for them to collect our money, obviously they just want the change as a tip as we had to say after half hour of waiting for our change. We had decided we were not leaving at tip due to a few things . We walked in; was ignored and we had to ask where we sat ( we previously called to say we was on our way) they walked right next to us multiple times until we had the courage to ask, not only that on the phone we were told the standard menu would be available and they tried to palm us off with the bar menu once we got there and made us feel like a nuisance when we questioned it. We decided to stay as we was hungry but received nothing but teenage attitude from staff who were old enough to no better, plus the smell of cigarettes was an added kick in the teeth. Plus when we asked for added drinks, condiments etc we was ignored and we asked about pudding being available a got a blunt ‘I don’t know’. This business needs to seriously re-think customer service, I have eaten in many establishments but this is by far the worst and I’m not fussy. Would give 0/10 if I could!!

Excellent lunch deal of 2 courses for £7.50. Food and service good. Nice choice of beers and friendly staff gave our walking group a great experience when we visited last Tuesday.

Our visits were to functions, and we found the pub to be clean, cosy and welcoming with a spacious car park and disabled access to both the bar and the spacious and spotless ground floor function room. The pub is well known locally for it's food, and on both occasions I have visited, found the buffet prepared on the premises to be probably the tastiest and varied I have ever had. If you are looking for a function room and catering, they do a great job here, hospitality at it's best! Not being drinkers, I cannot really comment on the beer, but there were quite a few pumps on the bar suggesting a good range of ales. There was a large screen tv on the wall, so they may show some sports events, you would have to contact them to find out I also noticed a large and well equipped play area to the rear of the car park, so it would be ideal for families when the weather improves!

Just had a wonderful lunchtime experience at the Kings Head. Very accommodating as we didn't book, but they made room for us. The meal was lovely true English fare and plenty of it. Well worth a visit. Thank you to all at the Kings Head.

What a let down. Came here for dinner with my boyfriend on our weekend away. Pork belly was a good size and very filling. My boyfriend had the lamb shank though which had clearly just been heated up - very dry and tasteless. We would have been fine to pay and leave but then the bill came. We both don’t drink, and the 2 cordials we had came to nearly £7! £3.50 each for a squirt of cordial and soda water from the tap?? The most I’ve paid for lime cordial in London is £2. We asked the barman why it was so much, and then he bought the manager over. Instead of politely explaining how pubs are sadly closing and therefore prices are high for drinks, he made it out like it was our fault. He said “well I hate it when people order cordial. It’s a bloody hassle to have cordial, because we have to go all the way downstairs just to get the bottle of cordial.” Sorry, what!? If you don’t like people ordering it, don’t serve it! He then said he actually undercharged us, and my boyfriend said “so how much is it for a pint then?” And the owner said £3.80. So our cordial is the same price? I don’t think so. Anyway he got very aggressive and eventually resorted saying that we should stay in London and never come back. Safe to say I would NEVER recommend this place to any poor soul who just wanted a simple explanation for something so minor. Ruined our last night away, and we couldn’t wait to get back to normal people in London!
