The food was lukewarm and late. It was average tasting. I've ordered from here before and it was lush, however this time round I ended up with a mild case of food poisoning. I have alerted environmental health about this. I haven't even bothered to phone up asking for a refund cos after reading the reviews I don't think I'd get very far. I won't be eating there again and I've told my friends to not order from there again.
Recently tried this Chinese take-away for the first time after are usual was shut. Absolutely delicious food. Sweet n sour chicken balls were so fresh and tasty batter. Egg fried rice, crispy seaweed and shredded chilli beef were all lovely and tasted freshly cooked. Not soaking in batter or sitting for sometime like some takeaways. Was ready to collect in 30 minutes just as they said when ordering on the phone. Will definitely order from here again.
If I could give a lower score than 1 star I would! I placed an order at 17:49, was told delivery would be 19.15 which was fine. I chased at 19.40 to be updated that my order would be "a bit delayed" and would now be with me at 21.35 nearly 4 hours after I originally placed the order via Just Eat. I will never order from this place again!
Only ever ordered from there twice and both times foods was luke warm, and items were missing. Rang them to tell them, and missing items sent out 50 minutes later. Not going to bother anymore I'll stick to good luck on Twyford road as they are always spot on. I don't ever leave bad reviews so this is saying something. More attention to detail is needed.
Very bad.. we gave this Chinese a second chance today as we had ordered previously and our curry arrived with no sauce. Then tonight we ordered mixed meat rice noodles and we got just noodles and veg no meat and king prawn chow main which again just noodles 8 prawns and nothing else no veg at all. Very disappointed and not worth complaining directly as they did nothing last time.. a bit like Chinese roulette you order and dont know what you are going to get back....
The service in this place is horrendous. They never deliver on time, couldn't care less when you phone to chase the order and still takes more time to deliver after that. Currently waiting for 1.5 hours with no food, no apology no offer of good will. This isnt the first time either. They just couldn't care less. The food doesnt make up for the worst service ever. Time for a new Chinese.
Best vegetable chow main I've ever eaten. I will happily drive 15 miles to get it. Tonight I ordered at work it turned up hot, bursting with flavour, and a fair price too.
Rude, disrespectful staff , incorrect order collected. Woman on the phone was so argumentative when we called to have the situation resolved. We have used this chinese for years and let the odd mistakes onions included when asked not to, different drinks delivered etc go. However, to be spoken to with such little respect for loyal customers helping to keep buisnesses open after a challenging year, means we shall eat elsewhere from now on!
At 1805 ordered meal. est time for delivery 45-60 mins. Comes through as ETA 1910. Then changed to 1920 restaurant delays then 1930. Eventually arrives at my door at 1945. No traffic issues - just busy restaurant. The crispy seaweed was 90% sugar. The chilli beef nearly inedible due to chilli content seriously didn't need the entire pack of chilli. The egg fried rice was nice. But 1hr 45 for a food order is just a waste of time. 2 tired and annoyed kids and a very hangry me. Will not be ordering from Kings Chef again. Heck this was their second chance after a previous long wait. There won't be a 3rd.
Has slowly gone downhill over the last few years unfortunately. Soggy batter on what was supposed to be a freshly prepared piece of cod, but a very generous serving of chips. I'd now rate as average rather than excellent which they once were.
