Hmmm where to start? Ordered two cod and chips and one Scampi, 1hr in advance, on a Friday. Order was not ready and they had not even started cooking the scampi. Seemed totally disorganized inside. Doing renovations while serving food, sure the dust adds to the flavour. As for the food. Scampi: tiny portion for the money, total rip-off. Fish #1: hot, but greasy with soggy batter. Fish #2: barely warm, person eating was extremely unhappy with the “cold food”. Chips: distinctly average. Will not go back.
Great little cafe/chip shop. It's nice to sit down in a chippy. At busy times book a table because they only have a few tables. The fish was so fresh, chips were golden with good texture. A nice touch with the slice of lemon and a good portion of mushy peas. Top quality. Will deffo be going back.
We had cod and chips along with cheesy chips and a haddock. They were pretty average and the batter was soggy. However, the key that served us was really nice. Also, the actual fish was good too.
I'm concerned about the chicken burger I had tonight, I pulled it apart after realising it looked raw and found it to appear raw throughout except around the edges. If I'm not sick by the end of the week, I'll change my review. The large cod and chips... My partner said - The batter came away from his fish and was not nice. There was no justification for the tiny portion of chips that accompanied the fish. I did enjoy my chips, they were nice. I'm totally freaking out about the chicken burger though.
If you want proper fish and chips then head here absolutely fantastic food...well recommend...Food: 5/5

A quaint little fish & chip shop with a small cozy dining area plus a takeaway, the staff are friendly & accommodating as I was allowed to sit where I wanted even though I was alone, the food is tasty all at a very good price, I ordered the haddock & chips with mushy peas with a mug of coffee, everything was hot, my only disappointment was the fish was thin & the batter wasn't crispy enough in the middle, a little wet & soggy, but I'd prefer that than overcooked, next time I will order the cod though as the fish looked lovely & thick & cooked to perfection, large cod in the cafe is I think, the same price as standard haddock, regardless I can't wait to return when I am next in this beautiful & historical area.
Fantastic fish and chips, the batter was light and crispy and the chips were cooked to perfection. It was so good we had to go back while we still in the area.
Great fish and chip shop. Tucked away around the back streets, but one of the best around. Food freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff. Also have the option to eat in.
Terrible. We bought some fish and chips, cheesy chips large and small and then took them to the beach. When we got there we discovered that they had not put cheese on the large cheesy chips and the chips were hard and dry. The box tasted better. Not enough salt and vinegar. The only positive were the staff, very friendly but that is where it ends. First time and last time we will buy from there.
