Just delicious - beautifully served and amazing taste. Fabulous place to have nice leisurely lunch over looking the beach..
We came here on a bank holiday, and it is one of the two restaurants which were not full, so we got lucky and got a seat. The food was good in smaller portion except for the cheese platter and on the more expensive side, which were reasonable because it is by the sea and it’s a part of a hotel. The staff are polite and quick. We ordered a starter, 2 mains, 2 cocktails, and 2 dessert. Unfortunately there was a family with a screaming kid, so despite we paid a good amount of money, we still have to eat with constant screaming and crying. I saw the staff asked the parents if they can help with anything, the parents turned them down. But I think a better option is to offer them a separate room in the other side of the restaurant. The main reason for this 1 star review is when we pay our bill, they charged us euros, which makes no sense because that is a British account with enough GBPwe live in the UK , not tourists and it charged us 9 pounds conversion fee. The staff explained it is done automatically and he doesn’t know why. We really don’t appreciate the lack of effort to resolve the issue. I understand error can happen from time to time, it is the staff’s effort in solving the issue that matters. In this case, there was none.
we went as a special occasion for the Christmas menu. But it was terrible. Starters were lovely, but the roast turkey dinner was beyond dispointing! It turned up to my table and at first I was convinced a plate of veg would follow, but no. The veg was actually on the same plate but because everything was black, I couldn't tell. Burnt food, tasteless and vile and potatoes soggy! It was only the Turkey which tasted nice, the rest was like eating charcoal without a crunch..... soggy charcoal. 12% tip on top took the mick too, it's embarrassing to ask to remove it and they know it!!
We came here for an afternoon tea and left roundly disappointed. We were only offered 1 pot of tea each, with no refills, or new hot water. The one person who didn't want tea, wasn't able to have coffee and we had to pay extra for a fruit juice instead. The savoury section wasn't quite what we were hoping for and we wouldn't pay for this again. The petit fours and scones were mostly okay, I liked the scones, but the meringue with coconut sorbet lacked the balance of a cream filling. The macaron was very dark chocolate, and chewy but not in a pleasant macaron fashion. The candyfloss was pretty, and tasted nice. Service when it came was okay, but I felt the 'optional' service charge didn't feel so. Would not return.
DELICIOUS PIZZA the pizza is so tasty! Crusty crust, not too thin and not too thick, lots of cheese, homemade pesto. Reminded me of the Napolitan pizza little bit on the wet side, but I love it as long as the crust is crispy!. Also £7 a pizza is very reasonable to me. And on tuesdays it’s second pizza for free. So 2 pizza’s for just £7 that’s a GOOD deal, No? My BF had the fish and chips and it tasted amazing. Fresh and perfect, with a very crispy beer battered crust. The fries were thick and delicious and the tartar sauce reminded him of his birth country which is Czech Republic. Also the staff is super sweet and the food was served quickly. Nice atmosphere as well. Very Nice and hip decorated, insta-worthy interior. Loved the vintage tattoo wall paper! Last But not least: many vegetarian/vegan options. Which is a Good thing! Definitely recommand!!
We had a good time ! The food was so fresh and tasty. The giant prawns were LUSHHH ! In the pic you only see two however they give you 3. They had a nice crunch to them and were so fresh. The sauce that came with it just tops it off ! I loved the lobster mac & cheese .. I didn’t even order it I tasted my boyfriend ... then it was mine, my boyfriends he only got a fork full lol. The cod was nice n crisp and the portion of chips was perfect as the food is really filling. The staff were amazing and drinks and food came in a reasonable time .. didn’t feel like we were sitting around at any point of the evening. The ambience was lovely very chilled and looked nice & neat, classy and obviously very clean. The prices were reasonable. Nice place to visit for a special occasion.
Good food, lovely ambiance and lovely service. Could not ask for more. If you get a chance has tables facing the sea.
Loved it here, the food was to die for great customer service too. Well looked after for my birthday plus fantastic quirky decor
The bar itself is nice and pleasant. Cocktails are not cheap not more expensive than the rest of Brighton though but were prepared with care, the decor and atmosphere are quite relaxing and well thought out. The staff were more concerned with talking and joking amongst themselves than taking care of customers though. For the same type of establishment, if recommend the grand Hotel bar down the road.
Thank you all, for making our 22nd wedding anniversary a memorable one. Although on a short menu, because of an upgrade in the kitchen. The food was lovely, but it was the staff that made the night. Abi the waitress that served us was truly wonderful, and Kate the new manager could not have tried any harder to make sure we were looked after. This was the BEST customer service I have had on a night out for a VERY long time. We will be back, and I will highly recommended. Andy and Helen Donaldson, Sittingbourne
