Welcome to the Jade Centre - a friendly and professional medical practice for acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the heart of Chapel Allerton, Leeds.

These traditional arts treat the whole person, in body and mind and not just your symptoms. Acupuncture has been refined and developed in the East over 2,000 years and can be enjoyed on its own or used to compliment and support Western medical interventions, providing relaxing, painless treatments for a wide range of conditions.

Every day Jade Centre patients tell us we offer hope, warmth and a way forward, supporting your journey back to better health and wellbeing.

Some people want to try acupuncture for help with specific conditions or symptoms. Acupuncture also has a significant and holistic effect on patients’ mood and state of relaxation.
The Jade Centre has an excellent track record of safe, positive management of conditions, providing relief and comfort.


Our specialisms include complementary treatments for male and female fertility. We also offer facial rejuvenation acupuncture – a non-surgical, anti-ageing facelift procedure.

The Jade Centre clinic is owned by Louise Attwood a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and qualified nurse (RGN).

Louise has been practising acupuncture professionally since 1990. She has studied here in the UK and Nanjing, China. Louise is also a Chinese herbalist and member of the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM.)

She is passionate and knowledgeable about her practice and respects individual needs, providing a bespoke, quality service.

The Jade centre was highly recommended to me after I was having a few concerning health issues. After feeling rather disappointed by the nhs. I booked a series of accupuncture treatments. Louise is an amazing practitioner who shows great empathy and most of all she listens. She looked at each of my concerns and treated each of them individually. She also gave me some invaluable advice on other aspects of my health i.e. my diet and nutrition. On the whole the treatment improved my health and my well being 10 fold. Louise is very attentive and tailors all treatments to your specific needs.
I was very nervous about acupuncture – but desperate! I had been in such an extreme level of neck pain for 4 months, it was even making swallowing painful – nothing was helping, in fact I was getting worse and worse. With just 1 treatment my pain level reduced from ‘100’ to ‘65/70’... I have gone from a point of having incredibly limited head mobility, to being able to twist and nod gently. I have a diagnosis of fairly advanced Parkinson’s, with all the complications that adds; this makes the huge improvement even more remarkable. I am so very grateful to Louise for her skill, knowledge, and relaxed calm manner. She must have studied and worked really hard over the years to have reached such a level. I’m really excited, and deeply relieved, about what the next treatments will bring. THANK YOU LOUISE.
I currently have weekly facial acupuncture sessions. Like a lot of people I have a bit of a fear of needles so if anyone had told me that having needles in my face would become one of the highlights of my week I wouldn't have believed them but I can honestly say it's true. Louise immediately makes you feel at ease and her knowledge and experience are incredibly reassuring. She always listens to my concerns and tailors the treatment to address them. I barely feel the needles and the whole experience is relaxing and enjoyable. The results I'm seeing are fantastic which make me excited for my next sessions.
