Arrived very late due to a motorway closure, over an hour did call ahead. Could not have been made to feel more welcome by Sandra who looked after us all afternoon. The food was great, the beer selection was good and the garden was bathed in sunlight. Had the perfect Saturday afternoon and can't wait to come back to this quintessential English country pub. P s. The goats are lovely and love the blackberries growing in the hedge nearby.
We had our wedding party here in July and James made sure that it was a really special day. We had drinks on arrival in the pub garden the Pimm's was excellent! and we were bought out some lovely bread and olives to snack on whilst the kids played with the goats and the garden games. We ordered straight from the menu on the day and when the time was right we were led into the pub and all 25 meals were served at the same time. The food was perfect and everybody commented on how nice their meals were. I had the fillet steak and it was delicious. The pub itself is full of character and is tucked away in an idylic spot. James is a great host and made us feel so welcome and relaxed. Thanks to the whole team for making our little celebration feel really different and special...just what we wanted!

A very lovely country pub - small yet cosy. Visited on a Friday night and it was a great experience. Our server, Sandra on the receipt, was by herself and doing an excellent job! Food was lovely too, especially the ice cream on the desserts!
Accommodated us at short notice after where we had booked had a power cut. So helpful and friendly and made us feel really welcome. The food was excellent and we were really impressed with the freshly baked caramelised red onion bread to share. One of our party is vegan and even though there was only one main vegan option it was delicious. Would definitely recommend!
Well this little hidden gem is just incredible. I don't actually know where to start! 1. The welcome was lovely, really laid back, engaging and super friendly whilst also giving you the space to relax. 2. The little qwerks within the pub really do make it what it is. Add to that the absolutely amazing staff and it genuinely is like nowhere I've ever been before. 3. The food. Oh my goodness the food!!!!! The burger was next level delicious! So juicy and tasty just absolutely divine! 4. The accommodation. Well it certainly has that wow factor. Heading up the old staircase to the room it's so unassuming but the minute you open the bedroom door you are met by some stunning interior design which when mixed with the age of the building somehow seamlessly join together! The bath was AMAZING, the bed was unbelievably comfy. I have no complaints. The little fridge in the hall was a nice touch with fresh orange and water. Honestly I'd be more than happy to go back and I'd happily recommend to friends and family. 100% worth every penny!
I loved it here. A friend and I popped in for lunch at short notice. The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming. Honestly some of the nicest people I've ever met. The food was absolutely delicious. Good value for money with big portions. It had a beautiful, cosy setting and great atmosphere. We spent hours there and didn't want to leave. Can't wait to go again. It was dog friendly too
Saw the sign for this off the A33 and gave it a try. We did drive past it because the sign was blocked a bit because the hedge needs trimmed . Sort of in the middle of nowhere, but nice and quiet. Large beer garden and has some goats at the bottom of the garden. We only had drinks, so cannot comment on the food. Rubbish mobile phone signal, but they do offer WiFi, which we did not try.
The Iron Duke was absolutely amazing for my brother in laws 50th. James was excellent as front of house, so accommodating and a wonderful and witty person. Lots of memories made last night. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection, we were a very large group from 16 to 84 and nothing was too much trouble. THANK YOU. Service: 5/5
That's very nice place. A little bit buried outside the hustle of the cities it offers some good relaxing and fun time. I've been there for food and drinks a couple of times, during quite and busy nights and the quality is always very good. Owners and personnel very friendly. Service and quality very good. Definitely a place to visit again
