"The Fox reopened in November 2018 after an extensive 2 year refurbishment and extension. An 18th Century Inn that was remodelled in the early 1900’s in the arts and craft era. It has 5 luxury bedroom suites, a large, but cosy bar and two restaurants. It also has outside seating and outside cooking for upto 100 more guests. It is the destination location in the Winchester area and boasts local ales, craft IPA’s & over 50 Gins. The food is fresh, only local and cooked by our award winning Chef team. From the perfect Salt Beef Ruben Sandwich to Roasted Turbot on the bone, it has something for everyone. Roaring fires, dog friendly."

What a lovely pub, the first time here, and I had a bit of a nightmare morning, so I had to ring and see if i could change the booking. Staff were amazing and were able to move the time slot. Food was well presented, and every course was excellent, especially the ginger pudding. Can say enough how much of a lovely time me and my parents had !
Lovely pub with great food and friendly, helpful staff. The room was spacious and clean. The dinner was so good, as was the breakfast. Tina our waitress found out we came by train and were going to explore Winchester so arranged for us to drop off our suitcase at their sister restaurant Shoal, which was great. We also ate there, highly recommend this restaurant as well.
Wonderfully designed rooms and fantastic food and drink. A relaxing unstuffy place with top notch food. Stayed for one night and the breakfast too was very good. Excellent value and will be backRooms: 5/5
The food and service was utterly sublime! I had the pork chop while my husband had moules! The taste was divine! To finish we had the mango and passion fruit soufflé which was out of this world! Hats off to the chefs and the service xxService: 5/5
Absolutely beautiful place, the food was divine, the waiting staff were very attentive and maybe could have communicated a little more between themselves, a very minor part of a wonderful experience I'd definitely repeatService: 4/5
James Martin recommends this? Come on James! Sunday lunch chewy fatty tough beef over cooked Yorkshire pudding, dry reheated roast potatoes.... all sent back. Would not recommend. Over rated publicy. Not good enough when you are hungry. Albeit main refunded.. no excuses. No food available to replace as kitchen due to close. Drinks service slow too. Food & drinks: Poor
This place is the best B&B I have ever stayed in the staff are great and friendly, the food is to die for, the room was outstanding and as for the breakfast you could not ask for any more. Will definitely be back if not just for dinner
High standards marketed, unfortunately fell short of great expectations, food varied from great to ok, shame. Slow in attendance being the main issue, maybe too busy for labour available?Service: 3/5
