Attended a 70s tribute night and had a fabulous time. Lovely grounds, very relaxing to sit by the lake and look at the wildlife. Food was delicious and served hot which I was impressed by as there was at least a 100 people there. Soup was one of the best ones I’ve had in years. Portions were a good size. Staff was smiling and polite. Tribute band itself was ok and the in house DJ was fantastic. We danced the night away. Didn’t stay overnight so cannot comment on the rooms.
Had my wedding here and the events team could not have been more helpful if they tried, they accommodated my needs and wants through the whole process and made the day run so smoothly, The toastmaster supplied for our day was absolutely brilliant also. my only concern was not having a food tasting session, but i was offered tickets to one of their events nights to have a meal which i could not attend included in my package, but i need not of worried as the food was lovely and everyone said it was a tasty meal. I will be going back for dinner. The buffet was also of great standard. myself and my husband are so glad we chose to have our wedding here, great staff, great food and amazing scenery , highly recommend
Nothing bad to say about this place it's just a standard 3. Stayed here as was at a wedding near by. Great night sleep breakfast included for the price can't go wrong. Rooms nothing fancy dated but Clean, Spacious, Comfy bed, Nice shower & Free parking what more do you want for a over night stay.Rooms: 3/5
Attended the 80’s tribute night at the weekend and had a room booked to stay overnight. Sadly the first room allocated fell way short of standards - bathroom ceiling covered in black mould as was the shower curtain rail. Bath had chunks of enamel missing. Plastic toilet seat came off in my hand and the ceiling light/fan was not working. Friendly and apologetic reception staff allocated us another room which was was only marginally better in that the loo seat was in place and it had slightly less mould in the bathroom but still not as clean as I would expect. No extractor fans in the bathrooms or windows so mould is always going to be an issue. Food - this was underwhelming and not good value for money. It was cold and served a lot later than expected leaving only 2 hours to enjoy the DJ and live music. Entertainment: Although an 80’s night with a decade worth of songs to choose from, the first song was from the 90’s Peter Andre and we also had the 70’s thrown in? Why? DJ was ok…. Live singer not so good. Location: Stunning views of the lake if you get a room on the right side of the hotel.
Wonderful afternoon tea for our Mother’s funeral wake. The Fountain Suite was a beautiful venue and the food was delicious. Lovely vegan options for one family. The staff were quietly attentive and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Phoebe Events and all the staff could not have been more helpful, both in planning beforehand and on the day itself. Very highly recommended.
Was very disappointed with the hotel. The lake view was fantastic but there was no mention of the very busy road on the other side of the hotel, our room was on this side and too noisy to have your window open. The car park outside our window was full of vans and lorries that left at 6 to 6.30 am. The rooms and bathrooms were very dated and need a complete revamp, our friends toilet did not stop flushing and the bath had chunks of the enamel missing. The hotel dining room was closed it said due to covid???? Yes you can get bar snack food but not what we wanted!! The breakfast was really good, lots of choice. I was really disappointed especially as I had booked this for 3 couples and as a surprise for a 70th birthday.
Fabulous place to stay for us & dogs. Shorne Woods a short walk away... Fabulous walks. Beautiful location. Easy to find. Excellent parking. Friendly staff. Rooms lovely... We had large double overlooking lake... Wonderful. Lovely food. Great prices. A lovely place to stay, peaceful, picturesque, beautiful setting, convenient. Will defoe go back. Highly recommend.
Attended a Motown Night. Had a great night but was disappointed with the live act. I had expected a Motown tribute act so at least a band that looked and sounded like they were from the Motown era rather than a covers band. Food was good for a large catered event. I did think in the run up to Christmas a little more effort may have been made with the decor.
Stayed here the night before my wedding in the honeymoon suite. The room was fab and the jet tub was amazing but the other bathroom was dated and in general the hotel needs refreshing slightly and bringing a bit more up to date but the food was delicious and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Room rates are extremely reasonable too.
Visited for afternoon tea, staff was very accommodating moving the set-up to outside lake platform lovely and tasty fresh cakes and sandwiches. With unlimited hot drinks. Children enjoyed their afternoon tea too great selection of everything. Will visit againService: 5/5
