Nice pub for a beer, can watch sports and has live bands in the main room. Sits along side the canal so nice stop off point on a walk or a good place to walk to and from in the summerService: 4/5
What a dirty pub this is We pop in after having a walk along the canal We ordered our drinks went to sit down couldn’t believe the state of the seats pure Dirt Then you look around and it all hits you The place is filthy Even the one bar staff looked like she’d been dragged though the mud Place needs a deep clean real deep clean On a good note the beer was spot on
WELL WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT THIS GREAT PUB,I HAVE BEEN THEIR A FEW TIMES, AND AS A OUTSIDER WAS MADE SO WELCOME. THE GAFFER DAZ IS A TOP GUY,WORKS HARD TO MAKE THE PUB WORK, HIS STAFF WORK HARD ALSO AND ARE FRIENDLY. THE PUB HAS ALL AND ANY SPORT ON, MUSIC, DISCOS QUIZES, GREAT BEER WELL LOOKED AFTER BY THE GAFFER, A GOOD SITTING OUTSIDE AREA AND KIDS PLAY AREA. EVERYONE IS SO FRIENDLY,SO GET YOURSELF DOWN TO THE PUB AND YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED
I like this pub, it's a proper old-school boozer without airs or graces. In this age of themed pubs and corporate branding it's really good to walk into somewhere that really probably hasn't changed in decades. I wouldn't say this is the place to go for a meal, but there's crisps, nuts and sandwiches. As I say, old school. If you're walking along the canal through King's Heath pop in for a beer and a bag of peanuts! Vegetarian options: Cheese n onion bap! Dietary restrictions: Nut allergy? Don't buy the nuts... Kid-friendliness: I hope not Wheelchair accessibility: Tricky I suspect as there's a couple of small doors to negotiate
Top pub good atmosphere and lovely people really enjoy the pub.Food: 5/5
Great old school pub with good GuinnessFood: 1/5
Paddy Marley's BBQ food was delicious Food: 5/5
Lovely canal side establishment, very popular with the locals who enjoy the wonderful ambiance and lovely meals in the well-kept beer garden. Only a ghost would think the welcome a little cold, or the very wonderful staff a little abrupt.
Nice quiet place with a good beer garden right next to the canal, the beer garden also has a pirate ship for the kids to play on. It's nice to go for a pint here after work or when ever you like. Good atmosphere and freindly bar staff
UPDATE: Since posting this I have seen several 5 star reviews which are all from the gaffer's family, friends and regulars. Not an accurate perception being given by them. Walked the canal the other day and the smell of drugs was overwhelming coming from the grounds of the pub. Awful pub. Blonde barmaid is rude bad attitude and more interested in flirting with the crude bad mannered alcoholic so called gaffer. Used to be a nice friendly welcoming pub but since this gaffer took over it has turned into a place that anything goes and is uncomfortable for anyone who isn't a regular. This pub has had its day and needs closing down or a complete overhaul of staff starting with the drunk rude gaffer and his girlfriend.
