Dropped into the Honest Politician recently and had a great time. The atmosphere was lively with some genuinely good music playing—just the right vibe for a relaxed evening. Beer selection was solid, and what I tried was fresh and nicely poured.nnThe place has a down-to-earth feel, nothing too fancy, but definitely welcoming. It’s the kind of pub that doesn’t try too hard—just delivers on the basics really well. Would happily go back for the music and a cold pint.
It’s a bit hit and miss depending on who serves you and their attitude towards working in hospitality, it’s not the best to be looked up and down when at the bar.nnSome staff are great but Its best to get your drink and head to the pool tables.

Several pool tables! It's an awesome spot for a night out with drinks and good conversation with friends. The music is great, and the atmosphere is super relaxed.
Not my style of bar at all more akin to a bar in Ibiza than Elm Grove. It's a student type bar.nnSaying that the young women serving was super friendly ahead of a long shift and chatty. Had Guiness as no bitters or real ale but wasn't expecting any. Sat outside to watch the world go by. Pleasant stop before heading on.nnNo frills here. Toilets clean though. Yay.
