The Hireman

I tried to open an account with Hireman and provided everything they requested, My business bank account, 3 solid references, I also paid for a Hire in Insurance as requested, only to be told my business of 32 years was not acceptable as its not registered at companies house and i'm too small. They did say I could open a individual cash account which suited me so I then had to provide more information, Driving License, Bank Statement/ bills...After a week of many emails and calls I was asked by Noel the City depot manager to provide a phone number to set up the account. He then replied saying that he was sorry he couldn't help me....then ignored my last email? Hireman have wasted hours of my time, my money paying for insurance and given me nothing but the run around for no good reason. My accounts have a healthy balance and cash flow, solid references and a perfect credit history. I'm now worried because anyone working there has access to all my personal and business information.

We wanted to hire a wallpaper stripper last month. After hanging on the phone for ages, without getting an answer at HSS, we decided to contact the Canning Town branch of The Hireman, despite never having heard of the company.  The young woman I spoke to was incredibly helpful and patient, as I found the verification of ID process a bit intimidating!  Once we got to the site, she and all other staff we dealt with, were equally pleasant and professional.  I would also like to point out that the Covid-19 precautions taken in the office seemed carried out to a very high standard. The equipment worked fine, but we realised we wouldn't be able to complete the task in a week, so had to extend the hire.  Again, the staff were helpful about that. I would recommend the company without hesitation, and will certainly use them again, if the need arises.
