My husband and I stayed new year Eve, Food good. Room lovely, staff friendly best of all. Able to stay with our dogs. They were made welcome with treats, dog bowls and bed. Thanks for having us. Hope to return again ogs
My mother needed to convalesce after an eye operation. Both my parents who are elderly stayed at this hotel for three nights. The care and attention they were given through out their stay was amazing! The whole team ensured that they were comfortable and happy. Nothing was too much trouble. A huge thank you to Amy ,Robert, Julia ,Paul and Tony for making their experience exceptional! If you need a break you truly can't beat this hotel. The location is beautiful ...the food is excellent and the team are the best!
My wife and I have just spent two relaxing nights at Hedges hotel, and would like to compliment the staff on their welcoming and professional service throughout our stay. We would like in particular to thank the two young waiteresses who provided us with such excellent and service at breakfast and evening meals during our stay. The only suggestions we would make regarding room layout is that a hanging hook on bathroom door for dressing gown and a mirror be placed at dresser where you would sit. The food was very good, particularly breakfast. The evening menu selection was limited , however we felt that this was probably due too improvements being made too main restaurant area. We would most certainly stay again and have recommended the Hotel too friends and family.
Stayed here with my husband and we both enjoyed our stay. Food was lovely. Staff were all very friendly. Couldn't do enough for us. Our room was spotless. And it was quiet in the room even with a live band on until the early hours. We will definitely be back.
Great hotel in perfect location to explore the causeway coast and a walk away from the dark hedges. Playing on Games of thrones the hotel is a great mix of modern and old. Clean, spacious rooms with a very comfortable bed. Not a big menu in the restaurant but everything we had was tasty, well presented and pricing very reasonable. Highly recommended.
A lovely, clean and bright hotel with lots of parking and beside a forest trail. Reception was welcoming and the room was comfortable with a TV and tea/coffee facilities as well as biscuits supplied. Breakfast was in the dining room which had lovely views over the countryside. A selection of cereal is available together with a menu for freshly cooked breakfast.
Give 2 stars for the accommodation not for staff. Stayed at the hotel on Tuesday night. Wasn't really up to much. Yes it's okay for you to see the dark hedges but very very little to do at hotel. No sky TV in rooms and the rooms were very very basic. Room was like and oven and there was no way of leaving the windows open securely as you were on the ground floor. The downstairs restaurant was closed as it's getting done up. We had to go upstairs. Problem being the lift was out of order and the toilets downstairs were out of service. Having someone with mobility problems it was very tricky getting them up and down the stairs. Food was out standing and so was the staff they bent over backwards to help you. Just hotel very very basic. You are really only paying to stay within walking distance from the dark hedges. Don't think we would stay again.
First impressions were poor. No one was at Reception when we arrived late afternoon and we had to wat nearly 10 mins before seeing anyone. Amateur hour. Finally we booked in. The corridors leading to the rooms are very utilitarian and seem more like a cheap office building that a hotel. I was giving minus stars at this point.. However, the room was comfortable and had all the basic amenities. Breakfast was adequate althogh nothing special. So, why 4 stars? Well, as I said the room was ok but the staff apart from the missing receptionist were outstanding. We were in the bar on Sat night when a karaoke was being set up. Our cue to leave. However, before we did the bar staff joined in with the entertainment. Seriously, 2 young women sang, joked, and quickly knew guests by their first names. A truly unique experience that I would be happy to repeat. Pay them more!
Comfy rooms and great location however the Food Hygiene rating for the hotel was observed as 1 star! When queried with the reception was told that they were awaiting a new sticker and that they had got 5 stars. Not so sure whether to believe as surely the inspectors could carry stickers?? Contact council for an update though their website still shows 1 star. The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at their premises and online so you can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food. 5 – hygiene standards are very good 4 – hygiene standards are good 3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory 2 – some improvement is necessary 1 – major improvement is necessary 0 – urgent improvement is required
We live local, and also got married here. Amazing stunning hotel and estate. Our wedding was perfect. Staff are soo friendly and nothing is too much. We come for family nights out often and can never fault anything. Love the place
