A beautiful place filled with lovely people. They say that a Canadian lurks behind these walls.
I have just visited for the first time, getting coffee and a croissant in the Terrace Bar. Impressed with the space, very comfortable and relaxing. Good coffee, croissant not too bad.
Great location in the middle of the University buildings. Good for a quick bite and a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. Very busy at lunch time with queues of students and teachers. Simple but cozy sitting with very chatty atmosphere. The prices are reasonably affordable.
Lovely coffee and food, with plenty of seating indoors and an outdoor seating area too. Staff are always friendly and get to know their regular customers. Slap bang in the middle of the university it can get busy at times, but the staff always remain polite could you with a restaurant full of students? If you ever need to meet someone up at the university then this is the place to suggest meeting them.
There are a lot of critical reviews about the hawthorns - yes it's old and not high end but it's ridiculously well placed. It is secure . I have had 2 maintenance issues that were dealt with same day - I am very happy with my room and shared spaces - the imperfections are a good footing for the real world ahead.
Brilliant student halls, huge rooms with good furniture and fantastic location. Ensuite bathrooms are also big for halls and non ensuite are adequate as well. Most kitchens are a decent size with enough storage, cookers and fridges, depends how many are sharing it. Not split into flats so you can easily make friends with and visit anyone in the halls. Would recommend to anyone.
I like the iced coffee at the Source Cafe and the environment is nice, although kind of loud, but I went there to work on some school work *had purchased a drink* and was asked to move twice to make room for other customers even though I was a paying customer.
Very good service staff, only the sound insulation is not good.
A nice polite atmosphere makes it a great place to go, whether with friends, coworkers, or clients. Great coffee, and good value too
Ideal location for lectures, SU and plenty of nearby shoos, pubs etc.
