Had a lovely evening here. The building has been refurbished to high standard and looks great. The pub was busy and the atmosphere was really good. Food menu had a decent range of options and our group were very happy with the food served. There is a good selection of real ales and lagers. The staff were very polite and cheerful. We will be going back.
Interesting one, this. Want to start by pointing out that the wait staff are super friendly and helpful. Really great, asking if we're okay with the food, checking in for drinks, etc. Big shout to Zoe for looking after us, she's brill.nnThe food. Hmm. They didn't have the scallops, which was disappointing, but we'll definitely be back for them.nnWe had potato and leek soup as well as pork belly bites to start. The soup was a little overly salty but delicious all the same.nnScampi for main was cooked perfectly and really tasty. Came with chips that were probably a bit too crispy to the point we couldn't put a fork in some.nnSteak sandwich for me. Choices were 'pink' or 'well done'. I asked for 'pink' and got well done. The table next to us got the same, although for some reason they didn't get any cheese either. I did though and it was great. Definitely recommend the steak sandwich.nnThat table also ordered chicken wings that also had to be sent back as they were cold inside...! Much more naughty than an overcooked steak. There were three tables nearby that had food issues, and that was just in the two hours we were there.nnDesserts were great. Brownie was fantastic, but the highlight was the flapjack crumble with thick custard. Strongly recommend. Came with a lovely latte for £7.50, which is a bargain.nnUltimately lots of teething issues, some of them more serious than others - but tons of potential here, and some great front of house staff. We'll definitely be back: your boy needs more of that crumble.nnOh finally, they don't and can't add service charge onto the bill and we had no cash on us. But we'll make up for it next time.
Last minute decision to have lunch here.nIt was excellent! Danielle was very friendly, food was hot and tasty. Lunchtime menu is good value.
We have been here a few times for a drink and a few nibbles. We ate a main meal here for the first time and we were terribly dissatisfied.nThe burger was tiny. Smaller than McDonald’s - for the price it was just awful. We complained to the waitress, her response was “I know - they are a bit small. Maybe it’s because the plates are big”nnNo offer of a discount or an apology of any sort. It was almost £20 for one meal.nJust not good.nWon’t be going back
It ticks so many great boxes. The food was unreal, the staff friendly. Gorgeous inside, nice and warm too.nWe will definitely be back!
