This is such a lovely, friendly pub - I really enjoy coming here. It's very conveniently located just off the M4 although not too close! and about halfway between Cheltenham & Reading. This was the second visit I've made, with parents and other half in tow, and it was even better than the first. The food is just lovely with a great selection to choose from and sensibly priced. Both beer drinkers were well catered for, & as a designated driver I had a good selection of soft drinks. Ham, duck eggs & chips totally fantastic, & the duck was cooked to perfection. My husband should have asked about a sauce to go with the Aberdeen Angus steak but it was well cooked and super tasty. Service has been great each time, and the puddings were amazing - cannot recommend apple strudel highly enough! We'll be back!

A mixed experience. The service, despite the place being practically empty was very slow we ordered not long before the kitchen shuts for lunch. However my cheese burger and fries were excellent. Great big patty, good bun, drowning in cheese and a side of fries done to perfection. My partners fish and chips had overcooked Cod but excellent chunky cut chips and tartar sauce. Maybe they were having an off day so I think they still deserve a 4.

Came for Sunday lunch with family. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and easily accommodated our 2 year old. Food was high quality and tasty, with good sized portions. To make up for a small problem with the meal, they comped us our deserts, which was very good service. Definitely recommend and will go back again.

Had dinner there last night and it was amazing. As soon as we got there they took our drinks order which came quickly, then when we ordered food they were very accomodating. Having crohns disease I normally avoid vegetables cooked in a restaurant as they are under cooked and this hurts my stomach but when I said I didn't want peas simply because I don't like them he offered me other vegetables I turned him down but he offered to cook a vegetable of my choice thoroughly to ensure I could eat it. When it came out this was indeed done and so I could enjoy my whole meal. Food was amazing and service was fantastic. We will definitely be making the Hare a more regularly visited place for food!

Although the décor is excellent the dinning experience was shocking. The amount charged on my bill for my main course was £2.00 more than the menu price. On querying this I was told that the higher price was programmed onto the till and the higher price was payable. The staff did relent in the end, but left me amazed that they felt that I should pay the higher price. I also informed the staff that the beer was cloudy, due to it being a new barrel and not enough had been drawn off. I was told that others were drinking it and nothing was done to resolve the fact that a sub standard pint of beer was served.  This could be a good pub/restaurant but attitudes and customer service need to change dramatically.

I've just had a nice steak at the Hare. It is a nice, clean, well presented restaurant and pub, more restaurant than pub. Prices are not cheap here, but quality is high. The staff are very polite and professional. There is also free wifi.

Excellent Food and hospitality. Amazing Chef. The owner Chris and the locals very friendly the It's a must if your ever passing M4 Membury / Lambourne Google it 2 mins from M4 through Membury Services service road follow signs for Lambourne you won't be disappointed  the place for best  fish and chips on M4 corridor for home good pub food

Very mixed ... The greens in the meal were excellent, but the haddock wasn't nice at all. The bottom was soggy/cold so suspect it was straight from the freezer and not properly cooked

I only came here for a private function so can't fairly rate the place. The function was hosted very well. I got the impression that normal pub bar service was fairly slow.

Great place for a lunch or dinner. Parking is at the back of the building, and can get busy very quickly in good weather.
