We stayed in this beautiful location for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay, while visiting Bath, Oxford and Highclere Castle. We also made a long walk in the area. The room was clean and warm, with good beds, lots of TV channels. The breakfast was free to choose from the menu and was freshly made for us. We even had dinner 2x and enjoyed it very much. Staff was professional and friendly. This was good value for money and we will be back!
Room was really nice and clean. Lovely shower and bathroom. The price for the stay was very reasonable. Food was overpriced. It was priced at fancy London prices, the quality was good but not amazing. I felt the ambience in the restaurant could be better. Lights kept on bright and not really destinguashable from the bar area.
We have stayed in some beautiful places across the whole of the UK and the Crown & Garter is top of our list! I just wished we could have given it 10 stars! The place is gorgeous, service excellent and Johnny the Manager is extremely professional and lovely. We are here at the moment, as we visited Highclere Castle and the Pharaoh Exhibition. Absolutely beautiful place, spotless. We would definitely visit again, can't wait
Great staff helped us out. We had a tyre blow-out on the way to this pub. The duty manager and chef came out in the ice and fog to find us and give a ride back. Brilliant. Room was lovely nice big bed all clean and new. Bar a bit lacking in atmosphere.
Lovely clean rooms. Bar staff were helpful, general manager was very friendly and service led. Only had breakfast, which was excellent.Rooms: 5/5
Roast beef was, unfortunately, grisly and inedible. We had a refund but it spoilt mothers day lunch. Nice location and good service however
From the moment we walked in we were met with genuine enthusiasm and friendliness . Jonny and his team have got it spot on . Loved my time there and would thoroughly recommend . Well done
As always a lovely atmosphere and spotlessly clean. Nice menu with a good choice of items. We had a wonderful meal. Only down side was the service I wouldn't say it was bad but the two young people serving spent most of the night talking rather than keeping an eye on the diners. My husband had to go to the bar and get us some more drinks. Good value for money.

Highly recommend this lovely country pub. A wonderful outdoor beer garden. Good is good, and on a recent visit the service was also excellent. Prices are very fair. I've only ever been here during the daytime so I've got no idea what is like in the evening, but as a daytime pub with food it's hard to beat
