Amazing food the carvery was perfect! Staff were amazing and friendly, also super dog friendly my pooch got plenty of love and fuss it was great! Very chilled atmosphere warm and welcoming
Simply the best place locally for a carvery. I would travel 20 miles as its that good but I am local so I am lucky. Staff are super helpful and I get the feeling that they respond to these reviews as it keeps getting better. Best to book on a Sunday as it gets very busy due to its popularity. Saying that I don’t book and get lucky as I am prepared to wait. I am a vegetarian and their nut roast is brilliant coming with its own gravy. The Yorkshires are also veggie.
Came here for the carvery. The selection of good was brilliant with excellent quality ingredients. The meat was cooked to perfection and the dessert cabinet may well be emptied prior to our leaving. Thank you for a fab birthday lunch x
Has to be one of the best carverys in the area. Staff are always friendly and helpful, great beer garden and terrace in the summer plus loads outdoor space for kids to run around...
We visited for Sunday lunch and are glad we did. Friendly greetings and excellent service got the meal to a good start. As for the carvery it was both generous and excellent. We wanted rare beef and got rare beef, the vegetables were cooked to perfection and the Yorkshire Pudding absolutely excellent. The only shortcoming was our own fault - we didn't leave room for a sweet!
Would have been a 5 star if we didn't have to wait without a reason to go up. We didn't get shown to our table only pointed from the entrance. There is no soft drink menu, only a wine menu so you're not aware of drink prices. A pint of heineken came to £5.50 and I didn't see anywhere a listing of prices for pints and soft drinks. Once we were seated we was left to it and had to find someone to get our bill. Food was good was just a shame about the service and way the pub is run. I.e not shown to table and not clear price of drinks.
Very good carvery with an excellent assortment of vegetables, etc. Unusual in that all orders needed to be placed at the bar. Ideally book a table and turn up on time as the pub is very busy. Staff friendly and efficient. Prices reasonable with small meals on offer if wanted.
We came twice. Fantastic pub. Staff so polite. Even though heaving with people, service was amazing. But the winner was the food. Fabulous. One the second night, three dinners were again Fabulous but unfortunately, one diner was brought a meat dish in error. It was just a mistake so it would not stop us going again. Brilliant place.
Had an excellent lunchtime meal today, generous portion, well presented and the pub was clean and tidy. I can recommend the turkey, ham and leek pie and they supplied extra gravy with no quibble. The staff were all very pleasant and efficient too and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Will return.
Really great carvery, food was lush. Quite pricey, but worth it for the quality of food you get. Low stars because we had a really rude staff member yesterday. Wish i got his name, he spoke to us abruptly, was sarcastic to my dad when he was helping the staff find the table number. abrupt to me, and rude to my brother when his card was declined. Table 47 we were on, if you're not willing to be patient with your customers you're not fit for hospitality work, or even fit to work you're way up anywhere in life if you're not willing to speak to others respectfully.
