It was a bad start when the new menus we were handed had prices higher than the one posted conspicuously outside. Prices were, unsurprisingly, higher. The new menus are in the window but I didn't notice until after we left. Service was minimal, though very pleasant. Had they returned to check on us they would have found out earlier that my store-bought pasta was overcooked and mushy and the chicken was tough. The sauce was good at least. My wife's curry was bland. Had they not worked on making up for our displeasure with the food I would have given them 2 stars, but because they did I'm rounding up to three.
A great little find! What a friendly place and the food is fantastic. Not only is there a great selection of dishes but the service is exceptional. My friend and I went back a second night and were recognised and welcomed back by Angela, even though the place was really busy and staff could've been forgiven for not spotting a returning customer. Angela was so hospitable and the food and atmosphere so good that we went back for a third time, this time for my birthday. As a gesture of thanks for us coming back a third night we were given 10% off! And once they heard it was my birthday they brought me a free dessert. It is touches like these that would make me return time and time again to this lovely restaurant. Thank you to Angela and the rest of the staff!
This is one of the best restaurants in Donegal Town, we had our meal there on St. Patrick's night and the place was packed. I had the chowder and we both had steak and chips plus a side of smoked baby potatoes, and my wife had the chocolate tart to finish. I have to say that the chef is brilliant because everything tasted so good.... I was in food heaven. Also, we had great service from the always attentive and pleasant staff. Highly recommended and looking forward to go again.
Good food and cozy atmosphere.
We stopped here on our way back to Dublin. It was the first restaurant we've been to since the pandemic started. The food was delicious and the staff were helpful and friendly. There was safety measures in place and social distancing - however we arrived just as they opened so the restaurant wasn't full yet.
Very good. Nice helpful staff, very clean and fresh surroundings. Great food
I stopped in for a late dinner after a long day traveling. Since the Chef Special dessert was Chocolate Fudge Cake, and that is a must have, I ordered a starter garlic cheese bread and starter chicken Caesar salad. That salad was one of the best Caesar salads I’ve had in a long time! The chicken was tender, the dressing was flavorful and seasoned perfectly, and the garlic croutons added just the right bite. Amazing! The garlic cheese bread was a perfect compliment to the salad, and it was the perfect blend of cheese and garlic and crunchy, buttery bread. The Chocolate Fudge Cake was also spot on. The cake was warm and tender, and the sauce was the perfect bittersweet topping for the ice cream and cake. The perfect ending to an outstanding meal.
Called in for dinner on a Monday evening, staff were fantastic, seated & order taken very quickly. I ordered the stable of fish & chips, my wife had wok chicken. Food arrived quite quickly & straight away I saw the chips were from frozen rather than fresh cut potatoes. The fish was grand, crisp batter, but not the best temperature, definitely reheated. The wok chicken was OK, but just OK, I have to say I have had much better experiences from chip vans at half the price. I can't fault the service, the restaurant is pleasant, unfortunately frozen chips & like warm fish for €16.95 is disappointing
Had a great dinner here. Very well decorated and laid out. Very good service. If you like chips, they were brilliant here. Very dry and crisp.
Absolutely loved this lovely little restaurant. Visited this adorable town and delighted to have experienced such amazing food and friendly service. I got the roast beef and it was the best beef I have ever eaten. If you visit this town, eating here is a must!
