Nice Restaurant and good food. We decided to eat in the restaurant after reading the menu outside the door. The restaurant itself is in the upper level, in the same building is a bar. We were seated in a table with a great view on the bay and the waiters were really nice. Unfortunately, the menu we were handed wasn't the same as outside maybe there are different ones for lunch and dinner and there were less vegetarian options. The food itself tasted great. Not outstanding, but altogether a nice visit.
I ordered Cottage Pie. It came out cold. The server asked if everything was ok. I said "its cold in the middle". He stood there for a second then lifted the plate to 'get reheated'? Second one was NUKED!!! Too hot to eat & tasted overseasoned. I just left it. I told server it was horrible. He just shrugged. Would NOT recommend.
We had a lovely meal in here. Great atmosphere. The staff were a pleasure. Our waiter Martin was the most attentive Ive seen in a long time. He made sure everyone was looked after and had what they needed.
Pleasant place with a nice view. The staff is kind. Our food was okay and the prices were correct.
Price is fair. Plenty of parking outside. The food is good but not greatFood: 4/5
Called in a couple of times when I was in Donegal at the end of September. Great place and the food is brilliant.
Food was absolutely delicious. To top it of, staff was extremely freindly and provided first class service.Food: 5/5
Very attentive staff, and quick and friendly service. Excellent food, highly recommend!
I've dined in Pier 1 a few times in the past when visiting Donegal. The food was always great and the service was pleasant and prompt. However, my wife and I called in on Sunday for an early evening meal. As the owners of a hospitality business ourselves, it's a fairly rare occasion that we are able to get away together for a few hours for a meal in another town. The young lady in the ground floor bar area greeted us warmly and directed us to to the restaurant upstairs. There were quite a few vacant tables, in fact it was less than quarter full. As we looked around for a vacant table overlooking Donegal Bay and half expecting to be greeted by one of the two waiters, I was amazed to hear a male voice curtly ordering us in a loud voice to " just wait there until I'm ready to deal with you". I was somewhat taken aback by his unmistakably unpleasant attitude, and my wife and I looked at each other in surprise, a bit embarrassed to be quite honest. I looked around to see who had barked this order at us, and I saw this rather scruffy looking waiter with an untidy, unkempt growth of black hair on his neck, taking an order from a party of about six guests at a table, while all those seated fixed their attention on us as we were left standing in the middle of the restaurant like naughty children for about a minute, while another waiter - who didn't appear to be busy - walked past us smiling. The waiter who had gruffly order us to wait where we were stopped writing and fixed his stare at me as if to see what my reaction would be. I think the people he was serving were somewhat shocked by his unpleasant attitude towards us, we're both senior citizens over 65 and were well enough dressed and well mannered. I decided that it wasn't worth even entering into any discussion with this ill- mannered waiter, and my wife and I were able to agree using only eye contact that we should react to this terrible affront to Irish hospitality by leaving and taking our business elsewhere. The pleasant young lady downstairs was surprised to see us coming back downstairs so soon, and when I explained to her what had happened, she seemed to be genuinely surprised and apologised profusely. We went to another restaurant along the street and I'm pleased t o say that we were treated to the warm hospitality that Donegal is famous for.
Dropped in here for a meal while passing through Donegal and I was very impressed beautiful view of the harbour from our table . The staff were very friendly and the meal was delicious and not overly expensive I will be back again next time I am over there
