Parked on way home from holiday. Option of 70p for one hour or £2 for 4 hours. I thought I may possibly be just over an hour so I put £1.70p in to the machine and It said that on the ticket I put in the windscreen. As it happened I was 90 minutes. So I thought the money I put in was fine. 3 weeks later I had a letter from smart parking saying I got a fine of £60! I appealed as I felt I had paid. Appeal was rejected as they said you can only pay 70p for an hour or £2 for 4 hours! If went to court I'm pretty certain I would win but to be honest I can't be bothered. Avoid this car park as its got hidden camers and the operator ignores any appeals.
Paid using RingGo app. Paid for 1h but due to a bit of faffing while leaving was actually there for 72 minutes according to their cameras so was hit with a £60 fine! Dreadful service: avoid
Very upset to get a fine today in the post. Will never park there again. Not really well posted about Ringo app. You need to add not winter parking rate. Just payment by Ringo . Very poor signage.
Parked here to visit the cycle shop very quickly so only paid for 1hr, during waiting for my tyre to be repaired an elderly lady had a fall and we waited with her until a ambulance arrived as we were the first responders. A few days later my grandparents passed away and we was away from home for 2 weeks, and during this time received a letter stating we owe £170, and our appeal time surpassed. Smart Parking ltd that operates the fining, are a very shady company and our fine has been passed to Debt Recovery Plus, yet again a company you don’t want to deal with as they only offer a pay in full service, can’t tell you who actually owns the car park to appeal in the correct fashion. Even the local council do not recommend you park here due to the fining process
We work in the town and did use your car park each day.... we were 15 minutes late moving the car and got a £60 fine ... not £35.00 fine £60 pound fine .... sorry but won't be parking here againnnWe had parked a couple of times in the car park and days after our first overpriced fine we got another. We were 1 hour 5 minutes when we paid for 1 hour another £100.00 pounds never again be careful as they don’t care about the circumstances they care only about the money in the fine … rip off merchants
