We came in a little before 2:00 pm on a Sunday afternoon. There was still a line of people waiting to be seated one hour before closing. The wait to be seated was quicker than I expected. The wait for our order was a bit longer but it gave us an opportunity to enjoy our French press coffee. I had the Hash It Out and my wife had the Two Eggs with bacon. The Hash It Out was spicy. It had me sweating by the end of the meal. We split the Barry Yellow pancakes and we barely did any damage. The portions are enormous. They go through a ton of to go boxes . The service was excellent and they had good music playing. We'll be coming back for round 2.
Second visit to this jewel of breakfast restaurants. First what I didn't like: the AC is strong and cold. Even the staff warn that some tables are a bit "windy". Make sure you wear a sweater or something similar, you might get a stiff neck after your visit if you don't... Coffee is good, served on a french press serving up to 4 cups. Now for the main show: pancakes. Big like a vinyl record and extra fluffy. I did enjoy the red velvet the most, and is the only one sized for one person. The other pancake dish we ordered brought 3 pancakes, wich can be a little too much. Anyway, the waitress offered take away containers. If you're more of a savoury person the offer is smaller than if you're a sweet tooth. The offer is mainly egg and bacon based.
The Griddle Cafe in Hollywood is fantastic! The food is delicious, and the portions are massive – you’ll definitely need to take some leftovers home. The pancakes are a must-try, and the menu has a great variety of options. The place can get pretty busy, but it’s worth the wait. Perfect spot for a hearty breakfast or brunch!Food: 5/5
The pancakes definitely stands up to the hype, I was impressed by the wide selection of available options! Ordered the 'Selfie on Sunset' and found the portion sizes were huge for one person coming from a Canadian visiting, service was also really good. The French press style coffee was also a nice touch. Highly recommend people with a sweet tooth to visit this spot. Pancake score: 8.5/10
The food was delicious, very large portions especially the pancakes. Different flavors of pancakes offered and good looking. Many people carry take-out boxes. Very crowded and narrow wide space, very loud with noise / music. You can barely speak and hear the other person next to you. If you're in the area and enjoy pancakes I would definitely recommend it as the food was one of a kind and delicious but beware of waiting, searching for parking and loud noise and minimal space. We will be back soon. Great people, our waitress was super nice, awesome really! Their french press coffee super good, we really loved it! The pancakes are an experience, they are super huge and really not for one person to eat share it with like 3 more people Our other foods though were not at all impressive, my muscle builder forgetting the name! had chicken with way too much chicken smell and out other dish with turkey and jabonero had the similar issue. There was a very long wait 40minutes+ to get our orders and that was on top of ~50 minutes wait to get a seat! So do not go there on an empty tank! Also super noisy! Cleanness: clean isj People: very nice Food: hit and miss Menu diversity: veryyy long menu, does suprise, they did not have lattes but rhe french press more than compensated! Seating: tables, booth, indoor and a vip section in the back Portion: big! Esp. The pancake!
Had "the golden ticket" banana nut pancakes for $16.95 and oh my god that was delicious and some of the most interesting pancakes I've ever had. Also, enormous. I couldn't even finish half of the 2 pancakes, and had plenty that I'm told were still good as leftovers.Food: 5/5
I recently traveled to California for a wedding, and was recommended to go here for breakfast. And let me tell you, it was absolutely delicious. I was only in Cali for 3 days, and I went here for breakfast twice. Both times, my boyfriend and I were sat quick and our food came out so fast. The portions were huge. So you could definitely share with multiple people. It was a little pricey but worth it to me because of how big the portions are. It’s also in a great location! I wish we had breakfast places like this in Philly. Overall 10/10 and I can’t wait to eventually come back!!
If you are very hungry and if you love pancakes, this is the place for you! A cool place with nice atmosphere, good service and a nice staff. We went here to have some breakfast and had heard about the size of the pancakes. We decided to share one order of pancakes among the two of us and we couldn't even finish half of it! The one we had was very tasty. It was tough to choose among the many options on the menu but eventually landed on "Tis the season". Good prices as well considering the large amount of food you get, at least when ordering pancakes. So if you're in the area and starving, visit the Griddle!
The Griddle is a staple in Hollywood. I wish I wasn’t dieting because I really wanted a huge stack of pancakes. I love The Griddle and it brought back great memories of my time living there.Food: 5/5
