Me and friends called in over the Bank Holiday weekend, we had a lovely time in Willington, the Green Man was busy, really nice feel to it, welcoming and friendly staff, this is our second visit to the area and we enjoyed the locals celebrating the footy score! Every one was friendly, food was lovely! Worth a pit stop on you pub crawl.
We had a meal here in the week and we couldn't fault them , I had beef bourguignon & my fiancee had rump steak and they were both lovely. The beer was excellent and the staff were friendly. The pub has a great , relaxed atmosphere and the decor is really nice. Overall we really enjoyed it here and will be back definitely.
Really well priced pub grub. Really busy on a Thursday night. Needed another staff member really at the bar. But the food was great and there was plenty of it Food: 5/5
We walked from the marina for lunch before the storm was due. I had chicken, ham hock and leek pie with mash, peas, green beans and lashings of gravy. It was delicious and hot. I then had apple crumble and custard for dessert, and that too was delicious. Plenty of crumble and plenty of custard. The lady behind the bar took our orders for both drink and food. She then waited on our table, bringing the food when the kitchen signalled with a door bell. This lady worked tirelessly and barely stopped the whole time we were there, so we left her a tip. Personally, I couldn't fault this place. Excellent service and great value, tasty food.
Have popped in here for a drink a couple of times and the food always looked amd smelt lovely! Went today for food and it was beautiful! Lovely friendly saff; such a clean place too, brilliant selection of drinks and the food menu is perfect! All the food was fresh and tasted gorgeous! Would definitely recommend this pub 100%! We will be back soon
Nice local pub, serving decent food and discount offers plus reasonably good choice of beers. Sports on several screens. Friendly and efficient staff. Dog friendly. Food: 4/5
Five real ales. Beer garden at the back was a reasonable size and had a roofed over area. Some seats out the front are close to the road. Another pub directly opposite if you needed.

Called in for first time to this pub. It has just reopened after a refit and is very nice. Although we did not eat on this occasion we will return in the future to do so. Menu had something for everyone. Staff were pleasant and the atmosphere inside was nice on our visit. Update 21Feb2022 Popped in for lunch and the food was excellent. The pub was very busy with lots of reserved tables, which is a good indication of how popular the pub is. We had BLT sandwiches with chips and they were delicious. Other tables were having full meals from fish and chips to steak and every plate went back empty, another good sign. We will return again soon for evening meals, as well as drinks. This pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and a friendly team. It's a real local, comfortable pub.
Good choice. Good value, we had the meal deal, 2 for £16.50. Comfortable surroundings and friendly atmosphere. Will use again.Food: 4/5
