Was once my favourite Chip Shops. However my last to visits have been Difficult with the Food being very Poor. Firstly the Food I have had fish and chips once or twice a week for the last 4 years though now the quality has decreased and its a gamble on if the food is good. The Chips are soggy and the fish tastes as if it was sitting there for a while. I have sensory issues and therefore could not eat due to the greasy and soggy chips. The fish was OK but overall the whole meal is awful.nnSecondary the Service. The staff members would allow for me to wait outside and collect my food from the window. However now I am required to collect my food inside of the restaurant to ensure that my dietary requirements have be adhered to. The staff members are friendly but lack the understanding of sensory issues and not listening to Accessibility Requests. Inside of the shop is very loud with the Cookers, bubbling from the Fryers and large crowds. It can be very overwhelming where in the past I have had Shutdowns in the queue due to having to wait in a crowded building which due to my sensory issues I cannot be in for too long.nnIn order to improve I believe that a increase in food quality is the main focus that Goldfish Bowl needs to improve. After that implement a system for people with sensory issues to wait in a 'virtual queue' and order from the window. This would improve the negative experiences I have had. Whilst I don't think I will visit again its such a shame to lose a Chip Shop I once loved. I wish I could give higher scores but my last 2 experiences have been a nightmare.
My honest personal experience.nnThis Chip Shop is absolutely disgusting food!nnIf only I could give it 0 star.nnOnly come here because it was recommended at the accommodation myself and my family was visiting for our holiday stay near Alton Towers this year!nAlso, clearly the high quality star google reviews are fake nnThe Chips were soggy saturated in fat and the fish was not fresh at all, it was clearly frozen fish if you call that fresh to your own standards and more soggy batter and less fish!nnI hardly ever write reviews but this for me and my family was a horrible experience! Clearly we won't be visiting here again
Honestly the worst fish and chips shop I've ever been to. The staff are nice, the shop looks a little dated but the food.. shocking, covered in greese the kebab tasted like rubber.nnI have no idea how the locals think this is the 'best around' I think they need a trip to the black country to understand how it should be done.
Excellent service by friendly staff. Food is always very fresh and beautifully cooked. The daily specials are always great value. Prices generally are very good with a wide and varied menu. The best takeaway in Cheadle by far
Visited last year when we went to alton towers and managed to find it again, small fish chips and peas £5 absolutely plenty & lovely and fresh, staff are always so helpful and friendly, definitely a must visit if nearby
