Ok so called in and found out that they serve halal food , accept tastecard and do charge for service although when i did ask the reply was “of course we charge for service “ which made me kinda think erm ok that was a little over the top response but whatever . Quite flexible on the taste card as they give you a seven day a week all year round 50% discount for 6 guests without prior booking which is very flexible and great! Wouldn’t have come if this wasn’t the case and the card made a massive difference pay for parking right outside the restaurant. Very close to local transport facilities underground and bus 2 minutes walk away . Location is in a tourist area so the prices are much higher then your normal with chicken biryani at £13 plus 10% service charge which is a no no .staff did seem quite rude but with a bit of patience we managed to get them to relax and open up with a bit of conversation they weren’t that bad but yes i do see what the other reviews about rudeness are talking about. Place accepts online orders ,delivery, over the phone order for collections , takeaway or eat in , good amount of table space in which i would say could dine maybe 60 people . Id say the food did not taste authentic, was expensive and quite bland to be frank . Easily would not recommend to others or return because i could confidently say the curry recipe you find online and make at home is much better then here . Look at the picture, we ordered chicken biryani and it looked and tasted like jollof rice .The chicken bhuna was like some onion in a tomato paste .Go elsewhere for a proper curry . Due to many steps down , the toilets are not accessible to anyone with a physical disability. Thank you for the experience. Hope you make improvements to the place and have a prosperous business .
Came here via Meerkat Meals. Not disappointed. Good waiting staff. Decent curry. Limited menu that's not a bad thing. Had mix starters, chicken curry, mutton madras, sag paneer, rice and nan. Absolutely bloody stuffed. Took home a doggy bag. Cheap and cheerful little place. Might be back.
The staff are friendly and eager to help. Food is amazing and tasty.
I was not of thinking of writing a review but I had eaten at this restaurant a few times and the food was average to good depending on the dish. I ate there mainly because I love Indian food and it was close to my hotel. But, I will tell you... they DO NOT care at all about there customers. I made a simple request for my Chicken Korma to be a little spicy and they rudely told me that wasn’t possible. Which I know that It could be. They have no social loyalty. They should cater to the customers needs & not being lazy and rude to prepare the food to which the customer wants! Will NEVER go back
We went to the restaurant yesterday afternoon 04/12/2018 as a group of four. My wife has some dietary issues so we asked if her prawns could be grilled alone and they were happy to oblige. The rest of the food was very tasty, well seasoned and the sauces not too oily or greasy which I have experienced before when eating in other Indian restaurants. The portion sizes were good, I have a very small appetite and can only eat small amounts at a time and there was a bit left over but the others in the group were stuffed afterwards so it was plentiful. Wait time wasn't too long or too short and we weren't made to feel rushed although it was a late lunch so not sure how busy they get of an evening. Hot towels were bought at the end so we could refresh which was nice. Overall a good experience, lovely food and relaxing environment.
“My favourite Indian restaurant.” The menu was interesting and unusual, and everything we ordered was delicious. The staff were very attentive, and came to check with us that the food had been ok when one of our party didn't manage to finish all of their main course. They showed genuine concern for the quality of the food. Finally, the bill was entirely reasonable. Perhaps a little more pricey than an average Indian but definitely well worth it. Can't praise this place highly enough!
The food is not great at all. It is the most expensive food with a poor quality and taste. Basically, it was tasteless. The staff is not so cooperative. The entire restaurant was empty and when we were trying to pick up the table , the staff said, this table is reserved. We went there around 8.30 pm and we finished by 10.30 however not a single family entered the restaurant nor anybody occupied that table. So staff was lying deliberately. Few Asian people entered, looked at menu and walked away. This restaurant needs to revamp things seriously because the location of the restaurant is really good. They just need to work on staff and food.
Some of the best Indian food you will ever have is in London and I do not particularly like Indian food. Unless I am in London. I thought the food was definitely very good and service was good as well. Price to portions were good. If you are staying in Paddington this is a good place to grab a bite.
Service was fair until it was time to pay. Even though we told our waiter we were ready to pay and he acknowledged, he kept doing other things. I could not get either waiter's attention even when they glanced in our direction. It was not until we put on our coats that the waiters gave us some attention - we still had to go to the counter to pay, and then it took way too long as the waiter seemed to be a mathmatical moron. We had done nothing to deserve this treatment, we were polite, well dressed, and quiet professional businessmen. Other couples and families came in after us, were served expeditiously, and were able to pay shortly after they were done eating. When the waiter came to the table next to us to collect their pay they had finished AFTER us, I could not get his attention to let him know that we were waiting to pay. It started out OK - we got there just before 7:30PM, the waiter placed us in the window seat, and we ordered the daily specials. We added an order of Nan and hot tea they did not have cold tea. The Nan was only one piece. The Nan and cup of tea nearly doubled the price of the special curry chicken. If there was curry in my meal, I could neither smell nor taste it. The food was blah. We go to London every couple of years and enjoy Indian restaurants and have never been disappointed until now. There are far better Indian restaurants in Paddington than this one with exceptional food and service. Don't be deceived by the daily specials board out front.
Found this place after Saturday tube closures stranded us at Paddington. Me and my Dad were in the capital watching football and had been drinking all day and wanted a curry. This place catered to our needs and the food was just what we needed after a day on the drink. Food was reasonably priced For London and tasty. The waiters were friendly and attentive. Would recommend if you are a group of lads wanting a stomach liner when on the beer.
