This place is a total gem. The food is excellent; the staff are dedicated and passionate. I have worked in the hospitality industry for most of my working life and wish I had a team like this behind me.

Regrettably, the meal we had tonight was part of a large family birthday celebration and we were surrounded by uneducated idiots who wouldn't know good food if it bit them. My only suggestion to them is ask for a doggy bag and take it home where you can burn it to your hearts content. It amazes me how some fools get so much pleasure by trying to drag something of quality down to a gutter level they can understand.

To anyone in the area wanting high quality food at a reasonable price, prepared and served by consummate professionals then The George can't be beaten

Had a family birthday meal here. 
I wasn't going to write a review, but certain unnamed family members threatened to write a negative review simply because they thrive on negativity. 
I ordered the chicken and ribs, and for the price I paid, I was treated to a gigantic portion of beautifully cooked and seasoned chicken and a full rack of barbecue ribs, with a side of home fries. 
It was delicious. 
If those family members write a negative review, then hopefully this is a more truthful reflection of this restaurant, and counters those poisonous opinions.

I have been to the George twice recently, the food and service was great both times. However, on both occasions they did not have any T-bone steak, meaning I had to settle for something else on the menu. 

In regards to the toilet area, this needs to be cleaned much more regularly. There was tissue paper on the floor on our first visit, which was still there when we returned the following week.

Really nice and homely atmosphere and great carvery.  Good location a couple of minutes from the train station with ample car parking for patrons.  Good coffee and right on the Taf Trail it is a great pit stop for cyclists and walkers.
