This pub has it all: friendly staff, fantastic food and a fabulous atmosphere. It is very dog friendly and people are also given an equally warm welcome. The food menu offers you a wide choice and is well presented and is great value in today’s cost conscious world. Agree with one of the reviews that states that parking is tight at busy times but you can park down the road and walk backThe effort will be worth it!.
Excellent friendly local boozer only just off the A12. The 7 of us all enjoyed a jolly tasty meal with very reasonable prices. Service was superb and considerate and nothing was too much trouble, including accommodating special dietary requirements. My double burger with blue cheese and bacon with dirty fries was fabulous! Well done - we'll be back!!
Popped in on the way home mid afternoon from somewhere else as it said food was being served until 9pm. Best fish and chips we've had since moving to the area and I'm now looking forward to trying out a Sunday roast! Lovely friendly reception for both us and our dog. Will definitely be back.

But... the menu was extensive and they were flexible enough to allow some exchanges of food items to allow my wife to have a Sunday roast altered to a Veggie meal. There is an open fire and the bar seemed to be comprehensive. I saw a few cocktails being made. We went in early Spring and found parking a little awkward. Lovely country pub with friendly staff. Nice selection on the menu , everything we had was delicious. Particularly impressed with the childrens menu - the fish and chips was a proper cod fillet in batter rather than the normal processed fish fingers. Highly recommended.
Visited The Fox Inn for Sunday lunch. Welcoming staff provided friendly and efficient service. We chose the roast beef and it was delicious. Good sized portions. The one negative is that the plates it was served on were barely warm. However, we would be happy to make a return visit the next time we're in the area.
We were visiting the area for NYE weekend, they managed to squeeze us in for a table at short notice on a fully booked New Year’s Day. Dog friendly too which is always a plus for us! Food was good quality, generous portion sizes and hot! Would definitely recommend a visit.
We just popped by on our way home to Hertfordshire and what a good find. A very nice pub serving very nice food and served by very nice staff. I had a very good vegetarian wellington washed down with a nice pint of real ale. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
My wife and I visited The Fox Inn twice while we were on holiday in the area. On both occasions we were greeted warmly on arrival and enjoyed two wonderful meals and some great beers. There was a blazing log fire and a lovely atmosphere and great friendly service, we will definitely be returning next time we are in the area.
Lovely Pub, very cosy inside. Friendly staff. We had the special of the day which was Steak & ale pie with mashed potatoes and veg, it was delicious. And also a Foxy burger and chips with coleslaw, also delicious.Service: 5/5
